Chapter 18: A little note

Lapis sighed as she continued to write up her homework, which wasn't going so well since she was distracted by a certain someone.

Peri likes me! She actually likes me! Lapis was thrilled, someone actually returned her feelings.

I gotta ask her out!

*The Next Day: Monday*
Lapis P.O.V:

I walked down the crowded corridors to get to my first lesson, which was Geography. I was happy because I knew Peridot was going to be in my class. But the greater news was that our teacher wasn't in today which ment we'll have a free lesson! I smiled to myself as I thought of me and Peridot together in class.

*A few minutes later*

I sat down in class at the front desk. The tables were in rows with two chairs at each desk for two people. I plopped my bag down on the chair next to me, declaring no one to sit there. The seat was for Peridot and no one else.

After a few seconds people started walking in, the regulars mainly: Pearl, Amethyst, Garnet and the rest of the class. I waved at my friends and they waved back. After a while finally Peridot came into the class. I smiled and waved at her telling her to sit next to me.

"Heyy Peri~" I pulled out the chair and grabbed my bag. Peridot seemed more grumpy today. "Everything okay Peri?"

"Y-yeah. I've just been thinking about things..." Peridot sat down but didn't look over at me, instead she crossed her arms on the table and buried her face in her arms.

"About what?" I asked starting to become concerned.

"...us..." I barely heard her say. I smiled and leaned closser to her and kissed her cheek. Peridot didn't bother to move or talk, she just stayed in the same position.

I pulled out a piece of scrap paper and a pen and started to write some things down on it. Although I couldn't hardly think due to all the racket and shouting from my fellow class mates at the back of the room.

I put the note infront of Peridot and left it there. I turned my phone on and carefully placed my earphones into my ears. I listened to music for the whole hour, but what surprised me the most was that the person sitting next to me, didn't say anything or look at me, for the whole lesson...

Peridots P.O.V:

I didn't want to talk to Lapis... Okay I did but I had no idea what to say... So I just put my head on the desk and may of accidentally fell asleep... The sound of the bell woke me up, and to my surprise Lapis had already left class, and so had half the class. I frowned. I quickly picked up my rucksack and tucked my chair in. That's when I noticed a note. I grabbed it and carefully unfolded it. It read:

To Peri~

If you're wondering then Yes. Yes, I do like you back. This is not a prank I really mean it. I would also like to maybe go on a date with you~ Just text me where you want to go and I'll make it happen~

I made a big smile and literally jumped with joy.

Yeshhhh I'm going on a date with Lapis!
