Zay's POV

I set my journal on the table. I needed to write or I would have gone crazy with her smell. I'm getting more accustomed to her sweet presence though.

Amber is sitting on my couch in the living room, watching tv. After setting her bag on my bedroom floor, she asked if I had a tv and immediately started watching it. I think she's annoyed at me.

I observe her from the kitchen silently. She giggles at something on the screen. The action is adorable.

I wonder if that's all normal humans do when they're with friends. Watch tv, laugh, gossip, laugh more. It seems really boring to me.

Amber is looking at me now. I decide to walk over to her. I sit down with her and her laughter falls quiet. We watch tv for a while until I get uncomfortable.

"So this is how it is?" I ask.

She keeps her eyes on the tv. "Huh? How what is?"

"Is this what you do with all of your friends?"

She mutes the tv, faces towards me, and reclines back so she's leaning on the arm rest.

"What do you mean?"

I sigh. "Do you just sit and watch tv when you hang out with your friends? Where's the action?"

"Uh, no. Are you calling me lazy? If this was all we did, it would be completely pointless. I can do that at home."

"So what do you do? Besides this?" I ask. Hopefully this will get a conversation going.

"Normal things, same thing as you."

"I'm a werewolf. My closest friends are werewolves. We do things a little different."

"Ah. Forgot about that.."

There goes her cute little blush. I smirk, knowing it'll deepen the color. "Yes. So you were telling me what you do?"

Amber grabs a couch pillow and leans forward on it. "Ok. We talk, sometimes just sleep. We do watch tv, or like Netflix. And we go out to the store or movies. Other stuff. Oh, and we eat."

Amber's face lights up and she starts talking about all of the different kinds of foods her and Savannah have tried. I listen to what she says wholeheartedly. I love seeing her excited, even if it's about something as simple, but good, as food.

"So, you and Savannah. How long have you two been friends?"

"Friends? Since we could talk. But best friends? What permanently bonded our friendship was in the eighth grade. I was presenting in front of the class and I had a nervous breakdown. She came up to the front and cussed everyone out who was laughing. I remember that so well. She helped me overcome my stage fright too."

I look at her incredulously. "You? Stage fright? Impossible."

She laughs. "How so? I don't seem like the pee my pants type to you?"

"No, not really. Someone who follows a guy they know nothing about home couldn't be close to shy," I say.

The sexiest smile I have ever seen shows up on her face. She leans toward me and puts her hands on my lap. "You bring out a wild part in me," she whispers. She gives me a quick kiss and leaves the living room.

I sit there and try to recollect myself. I force myself to ignore my body's reaction to her and follow her path to the kitchen.

"I was talking to you. Why did you leave?" I ask unevenly.

"Because, unless you were just asking to ask, you want to do something besides watch tv."

"Yeah, I do," I confess.

"Well, I'm going to show you the way us humans have fun."

I smile. Something different will be nice. "What are we going to do?"

"It's a surprise. First, do you have food here? Like, lots of it?" she asks.

"What do you mean by lots? Are you hungry?"

"I'm always hungry. But that's not why I asked. We probably should go shopping. Do you have a car?"

"Yeah, it's in my garage."

"Then c'mon!"

I lead the way to my car. I'm pretty proud of it, but Amber simply says, "Nice car."

"Thank you. You wanna drive?"

"Nah, I can't."

"Really? Aren't you eighteen?" Mostly everyone could drive by now.

"Well I can, but I'd rather not endanger us with my amateur skills. Now unlock the door."

I do as she asks, opening the door for her. I climb in the drivers seat. "So, where are we going?"
