"Who is this?" Jake asked while scrolling through my pictures.
I look at the picture. It was Matt and me hanging out. I was sitting in his lap and smiling down at him while he was smiling up at me.
"It's just a friend," I lie.
Jake knows what I have done. He just won't admit it. He has seen the pictures on my phone already. He's noticed that my attitude has shifted. He knows what I did last summer...
Last Summer
"Hey babe," Matt said.
"Hey," I respond.
"Have you broken up with him?"
"Not yet."
"When are you going to?" Matt pouts.
"Soon," I assure him.
"Will this make you break up with him sooner?"
Matt leans in and kisses me. I deepen it and our tongues wrestle with each other. One thing led to another and I was screaming his name.
Now...
Jake's POV
"A friend?" I question.
"Yeah," y/n responds. "No biggie."
I can see through that lie. I don't know why I can't just let her go. When I look in her eyes, they aren't as bright as they are anymore. Myles and Kalin keep telling me to let her go. I don't know what's stopping me. Maybe it's my love for y/n. This girl doesn't know what she does to me.
