Black Girls Rock was created to recognize the importance of black women
And that's exactly what it did it made me feel empowered like I could do anything
They showed girls my age who are entrepreneurs with businesses that raise thousands of dollars just to help the black community realize how amazing we are and its truly inspiring I didn't take my eyes off the screen for a second
They gave Gladys knight the living legend award and she deserved it because she is a living legend. When she performed you would've thought she was still in her 30's the way she was singing cause she still got it
she's so gorgeous she is an example of black don't crack lol
The rock star award went to the one and only badgalriri herself she was recognized for her achievements in the music industry and her work in charity organizations
Rihanna encourages girls to be themselves in every way possible and that's exactly why I admire her so much
Can we have a moment and talk about jazmine Sullivan's performance for a minute cause her voice gave me chills like omg everything was just perfect
especially her background dancers because she had women of all different sizes and they were all slaying my life omg
Also at the end Lauryn Hill performed she was rapping and it was lit she had this African theme going on and it was just beautiful
kinda sad she didn't sing that much but she still gave an amazing performance it look like everyone enjoyed it
I hope to attend this ceremony one day because I would love to be surrounded by extraordinary black women who strive to inspire others
