"You. I've heard of you," I said, watching Gus. This one, from what I've heard, outsmarted Beowulf like he was a joke. He was definitely powerful in the magic department, and with his brains, it could be a dangerous gamble. Luck wasn't on my side in this one, so I had hope that my training would be enough.

Gus watched me, his dark eyes emotionless. His voice was deep, yet calming in a strange sense, "You are the one who's made a name for himself. I remember hearing you were the one who defeated Eridon. Impressive, but do you honestly believe you can crush my guild?"

"Well, I'll certainly give it a shot. Anyone who calls themselves a God should be able to back up that claim, and honestly, I haven't been too impressed with what I've seen."

"It's good you have confidence, now, shall we begin?" He asked, keeping his arms crossed. I crouched, touching the floor as my hair started dancing. Around me, white flames began boiling, and shot up, scorching the ground as I ran forward. I threw a punch, yet he dodged. I twisted, sending a kick his way. He blocked with his forearm, the force shattering one of the lined up pillars around us. "Is that all you have?"

"Not even close," I smirked. I threw another fist, which he caught with no effort. Taking a deep breath, I felt magic build up in my lungs, and when I opened my mouth, a tricolor roar met his face, sending him flying back into the wall and flames burning the rubble. Landing, I smirked at him. "How's that?"

He stepped through the flames, still holding that calm smirk. "I'm afraid you're far too weak to defeat me." Raising his finger, a small spark moved forward. It vanished, then an explosion rang out around me. I shielded my eyes, and left myself open. In that instant, Gus had moved forward, his fist slamming into my stomach. A shock wave roared through me, and I coughed up a small amount of blood. Grabbing his arm, I turned and slammed him into the ground, then pulling back my fist, I slammed it down at him, the impact shattering the ground. "Oh, now you're fighting better," He commented, when he showed he caught my fist. In a sharp push, I hit the roof, and Gus stood. He turned, and his fist slammed into my cheek. I hit the floor, tumbling back and groaning in pain.

"I'm sure you understand your position now. You've heard I'm the smartest, but did you know I am also the strongest out of my whole guild. It seems very unfortunate that you would come to challenge me," He said, moving towards me. "I don't think you understand the importance of my guild winning this." He stomped on my back, making me cry out in pain. "We are ALL in danger, and it's my job to stop the disaster from happening."

"The hell.. Are you talking about," I questioned, squirming to break free.

He paused, watching me, and pressed harder. "Tell me.. You've heard of a magic user called Amaterasu, haven't you?"

I stopped moving, eyes wide. Slowly, I looked at him, nothing but questions boiling in my mind. He removed his foot from me, kicking hard so I'd hit the wall. With a flick of his finger, four magic rings wrapped around my wrists and ankles, holding me firmly in place. Another explosion rang out from our right, and I assumed it was the others still fighting.

I didn't struggle against the rings. Instead, I sat quietly, patiently, waiting for him to start talking. Gus closed his eyes and did just that, "So, you do know. I won't question how, because that is of no importance. However, I will say that none of you must defeat my guild today." He pointed directly at me, speaking low. "Should anyone defeat any member of my guild.. We shall all fall to Amaterasu."

"How the hell would you know something like that?"

"Simple.. No, I do not see into the future if that is what you think.. Simply put.. I am from the future," He said.

I watched him, blinking, trying to hold in a snicker and keep my tough attitude. "From the future? You expect me to believe that?"

"No, but I can give you proof." He closed his eyes. "In a 10 seconds, your comrade G will defeat Dai. How, by sheer means of outsmarting and trapping him." When he finished, I counted the seconds. On the tenth count, Richard's voice rung out, over the city. "Incredible! G managed to defeat of the twins by using his own magic against him!"
