I'm posting early because it's my first official day of summer break so here's a little gift.

*picture of Henry's cabin*

After driving for what felt like an eternity, they finally arrived at the cabin.

The outside was a light wood. The house was two-stories high; windows were scattered throughout the wood, so much so that there seemed to be more glass than wood in certain areas. The roof was a dark grey metal, the sun shining on it.

Henry got out of the car and walked to Rose's side. He carefully lifted her out of the car, holding her in such a way that the sun could barely touch her. But it was still burning her skin. Carefully, he laid her on the couch before he straightened out. His world blurred and he was forced to one knee. Panting out a breath he silently cursed to himself, controlling that guard had taken more out of him than he had thought.

He crawled onto the couch and carefully laid her head on his lap. Breathing out, his eyes scanned around the house he seldom went to. The stairs were wooden and went straight up; the balusters were pieces of wood, not cut straight but looked natural, like a branch. The bedrooms were upstairs. The kitchen was to the left, it was more of an enclosed kitchen, as well as the living room in which they were currently in.

Without realizing it, his thumb began to gently caress her cheek, wiping away a fine layer of sweat.

"I'm so sorry that this happened to you," he murmured. He couldn't help but feel responsible for this happening. Retracing his steps, he couldn't figure out what could have been done differently to prevent this. They had been careful. Only he, Rose, and his mom knew; and yet, his dad had figured it out.

Picking up the few notes he had taken, he began to read them, hoping he could figure out what exactly they had done to her and how he could fix it. His eyes scanned over the various drugs they had used; thankfully, he recognized most of the drugs. Un-thankfully, the only real solution to any of them was for the body to naturally cleanse it. This - and this moment only - was the one time Henry was happy his dad had talked to him, mainly to tell the boys what concoctions to stay away from; further cementing that humans were evil creatures with nothing but torture on their mind.

He froze when he felt her twitch a little. She quivered again as she lightly whimpered. Opening her eyes, she hazily looked around the unfamiliar house.

Where am I?! She thought. Everything was blurry, she couldn't make out any real shapes. All she knew was she wasn't in that cement room anymore. Moving her arms faintly, she could tell she was no longer shackled.

Rose jumped when something touched her cheek. She couldn't see what it was!

"Hey. . . ," a distant, muffled but familiar voice said. She whimpered when he touched her cheek again, causing Henry to retract his hand within a second. "Rose, it's Henry."

Her chest moved at a rapid pace as she allowed the words to sink into her disheveled brain. She could barely think straight or comprehend the situation.

"H-henry?" her hoarse voice finally spoke. If she weren't so confused, he would have embraced her in a hug. She sounded almost like she did when she was first bought . . . or after he drank from her. His heart sank to his stomach.

"Yeah, it's me. You're safe."

Her skin grew pale and her bloodshot eyes became weary. A new layer of sweat coated her skin. A small smile appeared on her lips before her body went limp again. Henry knew this would happen, but his heart still skipped a beat. It only calmed with the fact he knew the drugs weren't hurting her, only exhausting her. He gently held her shaking body against his, wishing he could take all of her pain and suffering away, even if that meant he would have to take it.

His eyes trailed to her necklace and despite the circumstances, he smiled. They had allowed her to keep it. For whatever reason, they hadn't taken it.

At the thought of S.U.F., he glanced back down at the notes. He recognized every single one of the drugs and mixtures. It was exactly the list his father had drilled into his brain.

Before he could comprehend that, he heard a noise come from the kitchen. He looked behind him but didn't see anything. Gently removing Rose from his lap he stood up, having to pause a second as his world spun. There were two reasons he never used this power, and this was one of them. He carefully walked to the kitchen and grabbed a knife, knowing how fast S.U.F. had acted he had to at least try and prepare himself. Besides, he couldn't take the risk that he was too weak to fight without a weapon.

Another noise sounded from the pantry.

He opened the door and saw a girl on the ground. She was frantically grabbing food, shoving it into a bag. She looked up at him, her hazel eyes frantically widening, and backed into the corner.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't know that somebody lived here. Pl-please let me go, don't send me to the Pet Shop."

She had dirty blonde hair that was fairly long, but it was hard to tell due to it being braided. Her skin was tanned more than Henry had ever seen on a human, telling him she wasn't an escaped Pet. Her face was skinny enough to the point of almost looking malnourished, not nearly to the extent Rose had been at when he first saw her.

Henry recognized her from one of Rose's memories. "Are you Rose's sister?"
