"Evangeline!" Mom shrieked in horror once I entered the house. I almost forgot about my bruises. It's late, what is she still doing up? "What on earth happened to your face!?"

I give her a reassuring smile, "Oh! I fell down and my face got beat but I'm fine."

Mom marches toward me like a marine, "This is no where near fine! Eddie, get down here!" Dad's home? Sure enough, Dad walks down the steps in his pajama clothes rapidly. He was probably already getting ready for bed.

"What is - Evangeline! What happened!?" Dad's reaction mirrored Mom's. I repeated the same explanation I told Mom and he had none of it. "This isn't a result of a fallen trip, Evangeline. This is the result of a fight; who did you fight with?"

I sigh, shaking my head. "I didn't fight anyone, Dad. Alright? I got beat up but I'm fine. I hardly feel the pain anymore." Dad continued to dab some kind of medication from his emergency aid kit as I winced.

"Who? Who beat you?" Mom panicked.

"Some girl I don't know," I say calmly, careful not to alarm her anymore. I decide to change the subject. "Anyway, there's something I should tell you guys. Albert and I are officially dating now, he asked me out today!"

"That's great, darling!" Dad says at the same time that Mom says, "What!?" Dad and I give Mom strange looks and she flashes us a smile. "I mean that's great, honey. He's a, uh. He's a good kid."

She smiles once more before escorting Dad upstairs. I could tell she didn't really think it's a good idea. But why?

If it's because of Nicolas then I doubt he'd have a problem with it. He seems to like me. Well, I'm not sure now after revealing the truth about their marriage life before.

Just then, a message popped up in my screen from Albert. I unlock my phone and slide my phone across the screen.

Albert: Hey, babe! I told Dad about us..

Evangeline: Really? What'd he say?

Albert: He forbade me!!
