                                                                *9 years later*

We pulled into the driveway of the house we would now be staying at. I looked up at it and noticed it was kind of small, but it was perfect for just two people.

"Well, this is it."

I look over at Temari, "Yeah, this is it." I respond. I open the car door and step out, yawning and stretching my legs; it was a pretty long drive from the sand village.

I took a look at the neighboring houses, I can't believe it's been nine years since I've seen this place; I sure missed it. Memories came back, and I couldn't help but be saddened by them, after all the last time I left this place it wasn't exactly on good terms.

After my parents and I got in the car, we spent a few years moving from village to village before finally being able to settle down in the sand. The sand understood our situation and promised they could help, even having agents to protect us. Being older, I was able to understand more about what was going on and who were after us. I knew more things than my parents probably wanted me to know but I couldn't help but snoop.

I didn't have time to really make any friends and my parents weren't exactly trusting either, things had them really on edge in which I would learn more about later. I was also home-schooled and under constant surveillance everywhere I went. I had no choice but to become friends with the agents who watched me; my parents were gone most of the time and the agents were the only people I could trust and talk to.

Luckily for me, some of them were pretty young and close to my age. They were in the program mostly because their dad was the Kasekage but it was nice because we became really close friends.

Temari and her two brothers, Kankuro and Gaara were just about the only people I talked to, and we could talk just about anything. They were able to make me feel like an actual teenager sometimes, taking me out to do fun teenager stuff, it was nice. It let me forget about my troubles for a few hours.

Just after I turned 16 my parents finally told me the truth behind what was going on. They wanted me to be prepared for anything and wanted me to know what to do in certain situations, not like it really helped in the end anyway but I was glad to be filled in on what was going on.

Just a week after they told me what was going on, they went missing. It was like they knew what was about to happen, and part of me wonders if they did know and that's why they chose to tell me. I started getting letters, threats and instructions, I did things I'm not proud of and still not proud of.

The sand village said there wasn't much they could do for me except offer protection and try and keep the notes to a minimum but they somehow managed to always find me. Fear, that's all I knew how to live by for the most part. I was terrified and I missed my parents and I wasn't sure what to do. Temari and her brother's were soon taken out of the agency, which made me even more confused, but they were in line to be the next Kasekage so they all had to get ready for whoever it was going to be.

Temari, Gaara and Konkuro knew that I was getting notes and knew the things I had to do. They didn't judge me but instead had my back, they even helped me in some parts, which was a real risk to their positions.

Finally an opportunity was presented for me to move back to Konoha and I was thrilled, I wanted nothing more and I had been thinking about it ever since I left. It would throw the people chasing me off my tail for just a moment, allowing me some breathing time before they would find me again, but maybe by that time I would be able to come up with some sort of a plan.

Temari wouldn't let me go alone though. She insisted that we would be roommates and we would both be transferring to Konoha high. She told me she probably wasn't going to be picked for the Kage position anyway and she wasn't too worried about it. She also told me she was pumped to start a new adventure with her best friend; I was flattered.
