"Hi, I'm Giovanna Hamilton and this is my Brother Alexander," I responded.

Lafayette took my hand and kissed it gently. It didn't cause me disgust like Burrs did. Hmm, maybe that meant something....Nah.

"Well, what are you gonna do?" Laurens asked again, as he too kissed my hand.

His eyes holding a smile which transferred to my lips.

"I am not throwing away my shot!" Alex responded

"I am not throwing away my shot!" I echoed, my smile growing.

"Hey yo, I'm just like my country, I'm young, scrappy and hungry, And I'm not throwing away my shot!" We said together.

The men beamed excitedly at us, calling for another round, including one for Alexander and I.

"I'm 'a get a scholarship to King's College. I prob'ly shouldn't brag, but dag, I amaze and astonish" Alex said.

I laughed and slammed back my drink, smirking at Alexander

"The problem is ya got a lot of brains but no polish."I teased.

"I gotta holler just to be heard. With every word, I drop knowledge!" Alex said going along with my taunt.

"I'm a diamond in the rough, a shiny piece of coal. Tryin' to reach my goal. My power of speech: unimpeachable" I said tacking onto Alex's speech.

"Only nineteen but my mind is older. These New York City streets get colder, I shoulder Ev'ry burden, ev'ry disadvantage I have learned to manage, I don't have a gun to brandish I walk these streets famished, The plan is to fan this spark into a flame. But damn, it's getting dark, so let me spell out the name I am the—" The boys and I joined Alex in spelling out his named clinking our glasses together.

"A-L-E-X-A-N-D-E-R—we are—meant to be..." Laurens threw an arm around Alexander laughing.

"A colony that runs independently. Meanwhile, Britain keeps shittin' on us endlessly. Essentially, they tax us relentlessly, Then King George turns around, runs a spending spree. He ain't ever gonna set his descendants free" Alex complained.

"So there will be a revolution in this century!" I exclaimed

"Enter me!" We said together.

"They say in parenthesis!"

"Don't be shocked when your hist'ry book mentions me. I will lay down my life if it sets us free. Eventually, you'll see my ascendancy! And I am not throwing away My shot. I am not throwing away My shot. Hey yo, I'm just like my country, I'm young, scrappy and hungry. And I'm not throwing away my shot!" Alexander proclaimed.

"It's time to take a shot!" We shouted throwing back something that burned pleasantly in my throat.

"What about you Lafayette? What do you hope to get from this revolution?" I asked.

"I dream of life without a monarchy. The unrest in France will lead to 'onarchy" He stated

"'Onarchy?" I questioned, wrinkling my nose.
