Percy POV

"Okay, so we know there's a demigod child of Nike here who is working for someone that wants to overthrow the gods, most likely Nyx. She could be working for someone, or the comment about their master could be something meant to throw off those around." I paced back and forth in the tepee, rethinking this again.

"Nyx has Tony and Loki for unknown reasons, possibly to make them do something, and this demigod here has a talisman that can make them invisible. They need to use a weird dagger to make some sort of sacrifice of a child of the Big Three, and they want me, only I'm not a child of the Big Three."

Zoë nodded.

"We don't know what we're up against here. There could be dozens of deities waiting to strike." I shook my head. "I've got to talk to Chiron."

"And explain all of this? How do you plan on doing that without revealing your identity?"

I shrugged. "If I have to, I'll do it."

"Percy, that could put you in danger."

"What else is new?" I sighed. "Zoë, he needs to know. Campers could be in danger."

"At least find out who the demigod who has the dagger is." She said finally.

"Fine."

Zoë laid a hand on my shoulder and I closed my eyes. Moments later we were in my new room in the Big House again.

I stuffed the letter into my pillowcase again and sat on the bed.

"I'm going to go check in with the Avengers. They're trying to use Tony's technology," she said the word with a slight stutter, like she still wasn't used to it. I suppose being hundreds of years old can do that to a person. "And trying to find out where he is."

"He's not anywhere they can get to." I shook my head. "Nyx will have made sure of that much."

Zoë shrugged. "They want to feel like they're helping."

"Yeah..." I glanced out my window and saw a familiar face coming towards the Big House and smiled. "I think I might have an idea for how to figure out who has that knife."

"Get on with it then." Zoë said before beginning to glow. I closed my eyes quickly as she flashed away, probably to Avengers Tower.

After a minute or so of silence, footsteps tapped on the hallway floor.

"Perry?"

"In here." I stood and opened the door. Jeannie smiled at me.

"How's your new room?"

"Quiet."

She laughed. "I'd bet. Do you like it better than the Hermes Cabin?"

I shrugged noncommittally and she laughed again.

To be honest, I liked the Hermes Cabin more. I had almost always been alone or only with one or two other people in the Poseidon Cabin, and here I would be completely alone, at least in my room.

"So what is Star like?" Jeannie asked, sitting on the bed.

"What do you mean?"

"She's so cold to everyone. But I heard her laughing with you earlier. Why is she so... shut off?"

I sat on the bed next to her and played with the blanket. "Not really my story to tell, but summing it up, she's lost a lot of friends and been hurt a lot. I've known her for a really long time, so I guess she doesn't mind opening up to me."

"You're an easy person to open up to." Jeannie said with a shy smile.

"Oh."

"Like, I've only known you for a little while, but I feel like we've been friends for years." She continued. "It's like we're really close."

I smiled. "Yeah. You're one of my closest friends here."

"Just a friend?"

"What do you mean?"

Jeannie bit her lip. "I... I really like you Perry."

"Uh..." I wasn't sure what to say.

Turns out, I didn't have to say anything. Before I could really process what she was doing, Jeannie leaned in and kissed me.

I'm not trying to be rude by saying I could tell this was her first kiss, but it was pretty obvious that she hadn't done this before.

Oh gods, a twelve year old is kissing me. Is that illegal? I'm twenty! Not physically, mind you, but... oh gods, oh gods, what do I do?

My first thought was Zoë. She'd know a way to get me out of this, right?

'Zo? Help?'

'Don't call me that. What's wrong?'

'She's kissing me.'

'Who?'

'Jeannie.'

'I'll be right there.'

I broke away from Jeannie and moments later there was a knock on the door. "Perry? Come on, we've got training."

"Sorry, Jeannie, I gotta go."

"Oh... okay." Her face was very red.

"Thank you." I whispered to Zoë as we walked towards the arena.

"Don't break that girl's heart, Percy." Was all she said in response.

I gritted my teeth a little as I said, "I won't."

I really wasn't going to. Annabeth's betrayal was still fresh and I didn't want to do that to another person.

But I'd just been handed the key to finding out who this demigod working for Nyx was, and even if Zoë would hate me for it, I was going to use it to my advantage.

Gods help me, I'm a horrible person.
