Mikes POV

I aint sure what happened but before I got a chance to figure it out Carson was up and storming the lunch room, I could feel his anger and aggrivation through the pack link. 'DUDE WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!' I asked him through our link. As me and Keith flanked him following him we end up face to face with none other then Hunter and Harmony. 'MINE MINE MINE!!' Was the only response I got from Carson. Me and Keith shared a glance before we came to a stop beside Carson and I seen his body tremble in anger. I knew he had a thing for the girl, she was his mate after all, though he hadnt told anyone or even admitted it. He didnt have to, he was my alpha, I was his Beta, he was my best friend since I was 3 and he was mine. There are somethings, that just dont have to be said. Feeling the tension in the room and sufficating us in the air around us, I did what I do best, I popped off as a smart ass. "Whats cracking dog?" A unhumorous grin spread over Hunters face, he hated for me to call him a dog, but hell thats what he was. He wasnt a wolf, he was only a halfbreed so therefore he was a dog in my book.

I seen Harmonys eyes wide with worry and i guess fear, knowing Carson we were going to have a stand off until Hunter submitted to him, though Carson was alpha it really pissed him off that Hunter didnt submitt like most, again I say its because hes a dog, not fully blood and bonded like most, Carsons power didnt effect him like it did most. "Harmony, wanna grab a tray and I will show you through the lunch line?" Harmonys eyes widen more like I grew an extra head. "Come on, I dont bite, well.. hard anyways." I heard Hunters snarl and Carsons warning growl but Harmonys smile made it worth it. She was going to be my Luna so, might as well make sure I am on her good side, plus I am man enough to admitt that the Alpha may run the pack the mate ran the Alpha!


HARMONY POV


I don't know what shocked me more, that I had two hot guys fighting over me or that they both seem to be... Are they seriously growling?! Like a real dog growl??? Mike snapped me out of my thoughts when he asked to walk with me to get lunch, seeing as there was already two over large guys fighting over the same reason I hesitated. But I couldn't help but agree to go when I heard him say, "come on I don't bite, well... Hard anyways" something in she's face was warm and openly friendly. Growing up in the city I had learned to judge people and I was quick to judge he was just trying to be a nice guy and get me out of her middle of it. Slowly I moved to follow when I heard Hunter snarl and Carson growl again. Oh my God, one thing for sure is this small frozen town was sure heating up with drama.

Mike grabbed me lunch and we made our way to a table where a him and Carson were sitting at before. I felt Carson as he got closer, I'm not sure how to act around him, whenever he was with in 200 yards of me my wolf would howl and whine for her mate. I dared a glance up as Carson sat down across from me since Keith and Mike were sitting on both sides of me. When my eyes met his I felt like a jolt of electricity went through me and I almost yelped out loud. If My wolf was right and Carson was my mate then that means he is a werewolf too, but if that's the case then he should know I'm his mate. He hasn't said anything, he would say something right? I was always told mates almost instantly bond.. The more I thought about it the more things started to make sense but at the same time it made me more and more confused about Carson.


CARSON POV


I kept my eyes on Harmony sitting across from me. I couldn't help but feel protective to her, and I know I said I was going to make her mine but when she was this close to me my brain refused to agree. My feelings were already in high gear, I can't risk it. I have worked to hard to throw it all away. Maybe I can just keep a close eye on her, make sure she's okay until I get everything sorted out. I watched her drop her head and keep her eyes down, her small movement snapped me out of my thoughts and I focused on her. Taking a deep breath I inhaled her scent, to put my wolf at ease. Before I realized it a sigh escaped my lips. I felt the three sets if eyes on me and I looked up to see shocked expression on Keiths face, Mike had a knowing grin on but when my eyes met hers I seen the confusion, then shock as her eyes flashed a knowing look as she put it together before she dropped her head down I seen an emotion that felt like a knife in my gut, hurt.


HARMONY POV

It's official, Carson is my mate, and he knew!! Yet he said nothing, I felt my stomach tighten and turn inside me, a sick feeling spread over my body.
'He knows we are his mate and he don't want us.' I told my wolf.
'Thats not true, he wants us. He has to we are I his MATE!' She snapped at me.
'Then why hasn't he said something he knows, suck it up he don't want us.' I felt the pain as I spoke the words to her.
'He does, he has to, he just has to. Why did he stand up for us, why are we sitting here if he don't want us?' She snarled, not liking where my thoughts were going,
'He wants to protect us, that's natural but that's as far as his feelings go.' I felt her whimper inside my head.
'Harmony.. Your right, he is fighting it, I can feel it, he is shutting his wolf out.'
As bad as it hurt me I felt it nearly choke my wolf in pain, before I could think twice I jumped to my feet and ran out of the lunch room. I have to put space between us, why won't he just reject me and let me go on with my life? My wolf whimpered at my thought but she kept quiet, even she didn't have a come back for me now.

I ran out of the school and towards the white covered tree line in the distance, I didn't care where we were going as long as I was putting distance between me and him.


CARSON POV

I felt my wolf growl at me, his snarl was blood curling. He has to be pissed if I can hear him through my block I had put up when Harmony came around. I sat there ignoring him as I felt waves of pain and hurt roll off of Harmony. Suddenly she was on her her feet and running out of the lunch room. I stood to go after her then stopped. 'Dont you dare go after her and then hurt her more, if I could separate myself from you, I'd personally bite you in the ass!' My wolf rumbled at me. I froze in place, he was right. If I went after her, I knew I wouldn't let her in, she knew I was her mate now. She would have questions that I honestly couldn't answer. I felt sick, what in there he'll am I going to do?

'What there he'll is wrong with you? She's your mate, do you know what that means, if you don't go after her I will, your being FREAKING RIDICULOUS!!' My eyes snapped to Mike who was now standing and staring at me, I could feel his anger through our mind link. He knew... He knew she is my mate.

'I am sorry did you say mate?' My head and Mikes both jerked to Keith's who a looking between us with a confused expression.
