In Which All Hope Is Lost

"Anak, labas ka ng room mo. May visitor ka dali..." Mama baited me out of my room to see my surprise visitor. I have been sick for a few days and haven't been able to go to work. I miss work. I miss her.
"Hello!"
"Aw, ni-visit ka ni Kuya Alden." Yes he did. My kuya "best friend" visited me. He led me out of my room and into the living room. I was hoping she'd be there but she wasn't. The only time I would wish that she would be with him and she wasn't there. Hay, life.
We chatted for a while along with Mama, over snacks -- my favorite fried bananas and Milo (the only high point of this day). Mama left us for a while to get some water when his phone rang.
"Wait lang baby ha, answer lang ito ni kuya." I was curious as to who it was calling him, of course, anxiously hoping it would be her and she would talk to me.
From the other line: "Papi Alden..."
"O Sam, napatawag ka."
"Grabe ka sa akin o. Parang hindi tayo friends. Ganyan ka pala. Nagka-lovelife lang nang-iiwan na sa ere."
"Hay nako, ikaw ang nang-iwan. Teka bakit ka ba kasi tumawag?"
"Ah Paps, gusto ko lang kasi i-confirm no. Mabuti nang straight from the horse's mouth. Tama ba ang nakita ko sa twitter at hindi kathang-isip lamang?"
"Ba't ka pa nagtatanong e may youtube naman?"
"Harsh, Paps! Iba ka na ngayon! Init ng ulo ah! LQ?"
"Ewan ko sayo. Ano, meron pa?"
"Excited? Nagmamadali? May taxing naghihintay? Ako naman ang tumawag kaya sa bill ko to naka-charge, don't worry."
"Hindi sa ganon, may importante lang akong ginagawa ngayon. So ano nga? Magtanong ka ng seryoso please."
"Eto na, eto na nga. Isang tanong, isang sagot. Kayo na ba ni Maine?"
"Tinatanong pa ba yan?! Sasabog na nga notifs ko e. Oo na, oo na. Matahimik ka lang!"
"Iba ka! Iba ka talaga Paps! Kahit umalis na ko sa tabi mo at wala ka ng coach kaya mo ng tumayo sa sarili mong mga paa. I'm so proud of you. *fake cries* My baby boy is all grown up."
"Mukha mo! Bahala ka jan. Maglupasay ka. Bye!"
I should have taken my Mama's advice never to eavesdrop on adult conversations.

"Baste gising na..." I heard Mama calling out my name but i couldn't seem to move or open my eyes. Like my whole body won't cooperate with me. My body aches, especially my heart.
"Hala! Ang init mo! Papa, dalhin natin sa ospital si Baste!"

Aww, baeby boy. Muntik na kong maiyak nung napanood ko yung video mo nakinukuhanan ng dugo. Paluin natin yang mga bad guys na yan! Lalo na yung nagbigay sayo ng virus.
