Chapter 10

"Peter?" Rapunzel quietly asks. It took her and Tink a long time to find the boy, as he was frantically looking around for her. She had to thank God for the fact he was not flying, for it would be a lot harder to get his attention.

He stops in mid walk, slowly turning around. "Rapunzel?" He walks over to her, and when he gets to her he slowly puts his hand on her cheek.

Her eyes widen as she looks down his hand. She has no clue on what he is doing, but she doesn't take his hand away. She can't, for what it's worth. The slight touch on her cheek is making things in her stomach happen that she never thought would happen.

"I thought you were dead- since I could not figure out where you were..." He suddenly puts his arms around her. A hug- she knew what this was. Mother had given her one every time she had came home from one of her missions. Usually Rapunzel would lightly put her arms around her, but with Peter she hugged him back hard.

"I'm sorry."

He abruptly pulls away and looks in her eyes, searching between them. "Where were you?"

Though she wanted to tell him, would it really matter? He didn't need to know they were to mess with the lost boys. It won't hurt him, why is she so worried about this small little detail? "I was with Tinkerbell."

"What did she do?" He snaps, narrowing his eyes. "What did she do to make you not able to track?" His mouth opens and his eyes widen, almost as if he didn't want to say it out loud.

She wanted to know more. Tinkerbell gave her nothing, and Rapunzel decided that she no longer wanted to be in the dark with this land. So she decided to play clueless. It wasn't a hard role to play- for she hardly had to play at all. "What do you mean?"

"I... Never mind." He goes to back away, but she steps forward and holds onto his arm, making sure he will stay in place.

"Peter." She looks at him in desperation. "Please tell me what you mean."

He looks in her eyes for a short second, then looks back to the ground. She does not let go of his arm.

"If someone is on Neverland, I can sense who they are and where they are. It makes more sense now, why it was hard for me to find you on Hook's ship. I searched for Hook, and then I could just... sense your fear. I don't know. I know it's strange."

"Everything about you is strange, Peter Pan."

He smiles for a split second.

"Smile," Rapunzel urges him. "I do not know why you try to hide your emotions from me."

"Emotions are a blasted thing." He shakes his head. "It shows that I have weaknesses. No one should know I have weaknesses- especially Hook, or anyone who can use them against me."

"I am not Hook, Peter. And I will not use them against you." It was then she put her hand on his face. She stroked her thumb finger on his cheek. She can hear him gulp down his emotions. "Stop that." She scolds.

"Stop what, Rapunzel?" His voice sounded different, as if he is having trouble breathing. Peter Pan's voice was strained, though she did not know why.

"Hiding your emotions from me. You had said it yourself, no one has ever wanted to know more about you. But I do, Peter Pan. I want to know every single thought, secret, feeling you have. I know how it feels to hide it all in. It's not a life I wish on anybody."

"And what if I deserve it?" He asks, his voice still strained. She realizes it is because of her hand, somehow it is affecting him. Just as his hand on her face was affecting herself.

"No one deserves it. Especially not you."

"You don't know if I deserve it or not," Peter whispers. "You have no idea who I am."

Rapunzel smiles. "Yes, Peter, I do believe that is the problem."

"You are not allowing me to think clearly," mumbles Peter. "with your hand on my face as that."

"That is the point." She smiles wider at him, and with that he smiles back. There is something about that smile that makes her so happy, makes her insides happy. That is the sole reason why she tries so hard to get him to smile.

His lips are something she stares at next. His pink lips were slightly open, and his eyes looking at her with such desperation.

She wanted to kiss him. She has read in books about kissing, and they made it seem to beautiful, so lovely. It shows an affection of love, of lust. She never thought she would feel this for Peter Pan, but there she is- feeling the urge to press her lips onto Peter's in a kiss.

Would it be so bad for her to do? What could one kiss do? One kiss on the lips for only a few seconds?

"Peter!" A loud voice yelling comes towards them. It broke them apart, as though they were doing something wrong. "Rapunzel."

"Felix." Peter says breathlessly. "What is it?"

"Something's happened." Felix's eyes were wide and frantic. "You must come immediately."
