Adam's POV

I was exhausted there had been lots of meeting today and finally me and Alex are in the last one.

After Rodolfo wrote about my company and me being engaged,  a lot of people want to collaborate or sponsor even invest.

I was sitting next to Alex with our sponsors in front of us, a long brown table separating us. Finally that other issue with the manager is solved and we got a new manager.

We are discussing the future of Alex and I's company adex.corp when I get a call.

Now I know that I'm not supposed to answer but this was my emergency number,   I contemplate whether i should answer, Alina. The last time she called this number I told her off because she called to ask for McDonald's.

I look apologetically at my sponsors and they nod. I can clearly see their annoyed expressions. I don't leave the room. I just turn away from them in my seat.

"This better be good" I whisper harshly.

"We've got- you've got your self in serious situation". Alina replies.

I raise my brows

"What do you want, say it straight up"

"Arena has been kidnapped, well not really, wait no... yes and no well her family knows the person so I'm not sure what's up with that part but i-" I interrupt her.

"How much".

"1 million"

I close the phone and turn towards my sponsors.

"I need to go... family drama you understand right" I walk out of the room slamming the door behind me.

I leave for one week and this is what happens.

Time to go back home.

Alex catches up to me "Dude what the heck!?, we needed that interview, what could possibly be more important".

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you"

Few hours later

I return to my house where Alina is waiting.

"Adam listen just don't get aggressive her parents are in a delicate situation."

I enter the house and look for my mother I find her in the living room with Arina's mom.

I sit and they look at me my mom's expression vacant her mom's... well terrified.

"What happened..... from the beginning"
