*Eyes Closed*

The sound of engines roaring, people speaking. The cool feeling of the air fan hitting my face. OG's lungs rising and falling under my hand, along with my leg falling asleep from my awkward position in my seat.

"Are you sure?" I knew OG had asked this, the vibrations from his voice emanated through to my hand made me assume so.

"No, I haven't had internet access in a while so when we land I will look it up." answered another voice, probably Omar's.

"We should let Daff know, he would know the best thing to do don't you think?" Felix questioned.

I felt OG nod his head.

Omar began speaking. "I saw the emergency lights flashing out my window from the front if the airport as we were taking off it looked pretty serious, but I didn't think much if it."

"Guys calm down I am sure he is fine."

"What are you going to tell him if he is fine? More so, if he isn't what are you going to tell her?" I knew Omar was speaking about me but I continued to listen.

"I don't want to think about that right now." I felt OG's head turn towards my direction. He pulled my hair out of the way and waited for a moment probably looking at the small details of my face and leaned down to kiss my forehead. "I know if we told her it would be devastating."

"Don't kiss her like that OG, or you will fall for a girl who will never be yours." I heard Felix say. Smart
man I thought to myself.

"Well, we are landing soon; you have now until our next flight to tell her."

"Why do I have to be the bearer of bad news?"

The conversation went quiet. I figured it was safe to open my eyes.

"Hey." OG greeted me with a grin. I faked wiping my eyes clean and looked at him with my eyebrows furrowed.

"Get that stupid smile off your face." He tried hard to lose his smile but his face muscles were still too excited to give up. He was clearly still pumped up from my kiss. "How long until we land?"

"We have already started descending." Felix told me. "Look out the window."

I followed his instruction. The ground was really close, only about twenty meters off the ground.

We soon landed and filed into a line to exit the aircraft.

The blonde bimbo chick was waving everyone off at the front of the plane. When I got up to the front she couldn't stand to look into my eyes.

"Have a wonderful vacation miss." She wished me.

"I live here." I told her blankly. I looked down to her stained shirt that I ruined earlier. "Here, do yourself a favor." I pulled out a stain stick for her to grab. She smiled, thanked me, and began to reach for it but when her hand came close I dropped it to the floor and left.

I honestly couldn't stand her behavior... and I couldn't stand how she influenced mine.

"Ok come on guys we have to get on our next plane now we don't have much time." Daff explained.

We all headed back to security so we could find our new gate to California.

"Alisha I have to tell you something." But Daff interrupted OG from his speech and told him to hurry through security. "It's about Oscar." He continued.

"OG!" Daff called.

"It's ok tell me on the plane." I told him. He nodded and we all hurried through security and onto our new plane. This ride would be longer than our last one but it is during the night so it would be easier... Or so I thought.

We entered the new plane and found our seats. This plane was larger, and there were two aisles for people to walk down and also 7 seats in each row.

I made sure that I was the first to enter the plane, that way I couldn't influence who sat next to me.

I entered my seat and Omar sat down beside me and we all settled in by the time it took us to take off.

Once our seat belt lights shut off, Omar opened his tray table and pulled out his phone.

"Jay-z?"

"Emm yea. Do you like his music?"

"Yea, he's alright. I have danced to a couple of his songs at WOD."

"What's it like... you know... to dance on the big stage?"

"Well, It's a lot like a Fooo concert. Accept it is all dancing and no singing." Omar's face lit up "

I want to dance with you sometime, I think I can learn a lot from you." He told me. I knew Omar was a stronger singer and he wasn't as talented of a dancer but the fact that he asked me to teach him really flattered me.

"That sounds good to me! I'd love to show you some tips and tricks!"

"Thanks heh.."

He continued opening an app on his phone but I couldn't help but continue speaking to him.

"Hey Omar."

"Yea."

"What were you guys talking about when I was sleeping?"

He put his phone down, His face washed with shock.

"You weren't sleeping were you?"

He caught me... my stomach began to drop but I couldn't lie to him.

"No, I was awake."

He began rubbing his face and fixing his hair, fidgeting because he truly wanted to avoid this topic.

"Omar!" I whispered harshly and shook his shoulder. "Just tell me."

His gaze waved from my left eye to my right and back over again repetitively.

"As we were taking off in Nörkoping, I noticed ambulances and police cars pile around the front entrance of the airport." He tried really hard to look away.

"Please just tell me Omar." I begged him.

"We were just worried about Oscar because he wasn't looking so great when we left."

My face went blank; I could feel the blood drain from my face as he said this.

"You didn't think to tell me before on our last flight?"

"Daff told us not to, because you wouldn't have gotten on the plane."

"Does he not care about Oscar at all?" I folded my arms over, my patience was warring thin.

"He does, especially Katia, but they have to do what is beat for the record label."

I couldn't even wrap my head around what he was saying. I left my boyfriend behind, sick, and vulnerable. While I left with his three best friends and possibly future career to fulfill his dream without him by my side. All the meantime, I make out with his best friend to prove a point to a girl who has the intelligence of my shoe.
What am I?
...

"We are horrible people." I covered my mouth; my eyes were wet with sadness. I couldn't believe my actions.

"We are not horrible people you are a normal young woman."

"Omar! I left Oscar behind!"

"Listen to yourself!" He starred at me straight in the eyes. "You are talking like you left your husband behind. You are still growing as a person! You will meet someone new!...and so will Oscar."

"Were still together. You can't tell me that distance is what is going to break us. We’re nothing like that. I gave my vir-..."

I frantically turned on the television to find Swedish News. But hours had passed...

Swedish Stocks...
Deadly Storms...
Swedish Princess...
Community Protests...

Thankfully nothing of any interest to me rose on the screen.

"Alisha we have to get used to American time zones. You should try to sleep."

"You should sleep I am busy." I continued looking to the screen. Omar reached over my arms and turned off my screen.

"Your eyes are bloodshot, you have black rings under your eyes, and you have an incredible fever. You are dead tired and you will not think straight until tomorrow."

"Ugh.." I sighed; I was beginning to miss sleeping in Oscar's arms. Now I worry that he is even an able breathing body.

"Good night." He spoke.

The lights on the aircraft were shut off for the night but I could hear movement from the other aisle. A man cleared his voice and I knew it was Felix.

"Hej Omar kan vi byta plats för natten?"

"Har du alltid har att driva den? Du har redan varnat OG att vara försiktig." Omar responded. "vara försiktig att hon har feber."

"English guys! I am still here!" I yelled at the both of them which triggered angry comments from the sleeping people around us. Omar just chuckled to himself and stood up to stretch.

"What are you guys doing?"

"Felix and I are switching places for the night." Omar spoke and travelled to the back of the plane for the washroom.

"Why?" I asked Felix as he sat next to me. "I rather liked talking to Omar. He is extremely shy though."

"Yea, he just has to warm up to you." Felix told me. He positioned himself so I had no choice but to sleep along with him.

"You better not pull anything funky on me." I protested.

He held his hands up pretending to defend himself. "I just want to sleep and maybe keep you warm, Omar said you are getting sick."

"No, I am just worried about Oscar." I placed my head down on his chest giving up on resisting Felix. It didn't mean anything to me but if it made him happy I guess I could enjoy the attention and pampering.

"I am too, but we aren't going to find him tonight so we might as well sleep."

"True."

Felix pulled up a blanket over himself and a second one for me. I cuddled closer to his body heat and he flinched from my chills.

"You are freezing!"

"You wanted to sleep here!" I made fun of him. He accepted my response with a giggle and held me tight. I couldn't help but roll my eyes in the darkness.

"Good night Felix, god natt killar!" I shouted to the rest of the crew.

"Good night Alisha."

I sprang to life in a moment of clarity. Luscious earth consumed my surroundings along with chirping birds and buzzing bees.

I stood on my faint legs to gain a larger perspective.

Miniature seeds and petals were falling all around like feathers drifting to the ground.

Ahead of my vision was a large red rose bush with rustling leaves.

"Who is there?" I questioned. but just as my voice spoke the bush became still.

I made my way cautiously towards the shrubbery to find a young man sitting with a picnic set.

"Care to join me?" he asked quite pleasantly.

"If you don't mind."

"Ahh! of course not! Come and enjoy a grand adventure with me!"

"But where shall we venture to?" I questioned. "We are merely lost in an empty forest!"

"But aren't we all?" the man asked. He pulled out a two bowls of spaghetti from his basket and handed me one.

"Do eat Dear, it will do you good."

I glanced down to the meal he propped in my hands.

"Have we met before? I do believe I have seen you before."

The man sighed. "Yes, this is true. This is not our first encounter."

"Oh really? Where else have we met?" I questioned quite interested.

"Well you see that is the problem, I am not permitted to tell you. It is your decision if I am important enough to remember."

"Sir forgive me, you have offered me a meal and the comfort of company in this large, empty, and terrifying place. Surely you can tell me your name so I may properly thank you for your kindness and generosity."

He stared off into the distance crossing his legs like a child.

"If I am important, you will remember my name and hold the ability to thank me formally."

I was stunned by his logic.

"Well aren't you cheeky!"

He turned to smile at me; this man was quite handsome I felt oddly drawn to him. "Indeed my lady." he stood up and offered me his hand. "Shall we walk and discuss? Possibly then you shall remember who I am."

We began our journey along a large open river.

"So tell me something about yourself." I asked.

"Well, I live in paradise." He answered quite proud.

"I don't believe that is a real place sir."

"Believe what you like my Dear, but I speak only truth. I live in a place I am so fond of we have become great friends, I have even gave this place a nickname. I call it Paradise."

"Your beliefs are awfully backwards sir."

"As I said, believe what you will."

We continued walking down the way.

"Tell me a story about yourself, perhaps a story that will give me some insight upon your life."

The man stopped dead in his tracks.

"The story I am about to tell you will affect you greatly."

"Is that a good thing or bad thing?" I questioned.

"It depends if you want to hear it. Whether you listen to it or not will determine your fate."

"You are scaring me Sir."

"Ahh! I never said this adventure did not include a fright!" The man protested. "There are insidious treasures in every forest, in every paradise. Whether you are prepared to deal with them is irrelevant. The fact is that you do deal with them. It is inevitable "

"Well, I would like to hear the story."

"Really? You are a brave soul."

He gestured for me to sit along a large rock where he would share with me a story.

"What do you think of when you see an apple?" he questioned.

I shook my head at the pointlessness of this question

"I believe I think of tasty snack, filled with nutrition and growth."

"Well, what about greed?" He questioned. "What would you think of that apple if a fruit salad, a symphony of flavor was perched beside it?"

"Well, the fruit salad would be more desirable." I answered.

"But the apple would be better for your health would it not?"

"Of course! But what is an adventure without a treat or a prize?" I questioned.

"The apple is sweet as well is it not?"

"Well, of course it is." I answered back to his comment.

"Now that you understand my concept you must answer my question."

"Do tell." I encouraged.

"If you were on an adventure, which would you choose? The apple or the fruit salad?" his eyes were intense.

"I suppose the fruit salad."

"I see." He answered. "I hope you realize what you have chosen my Love."

Wait...he called me 'My Love'...

The man stood up from his perch along the rock and revealed himself to me, it was a split image if Oscar.

"Is this truly you?" I asked

"I told you already, I speak only the truth."

Oscar proceeded to remove his clothing. an illusion of his body fading, dying presented itself in front of me. He crouched to the ground and faced me. His body was breaking down before my eyes and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

"Is this a trick?" I frantically questioned.

"No." He answered weakly. "This is a result of your actions." He weakly crawled to my direction and placed a rose from the bush by our picnic into my palm.

"Your delightful fruit salad has been poisoned with greed. Fate shall determine your outcome."

I woke up in tears.
