I landed heavily onto the ground, frozen in place. I tried to stretch my claws, but couldn't move them. A blue glow blinded my eyesight.
I shifted back to my human form, gripping my head. I almost killed Riella! I thought, and covered my hand over my mouth in realization.
"What happened?" Riella asked, running up to me in her cat form, nuzzling my shaking hand.
My sister shifted back, wrapping her arms around me, sobbing. I closed my eyes tight until they hurt. Tears tried to dart out, but I kept them in. I couldn't look weak in front of my enemy, Tori.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." Riella whispers in my ear, my shirt soaking due to her tears.
I could hear Tori murmur, "I guess you were right after all little Sophie, I did meet siblings who had a bond stronger than a spider's web."
