Dumb/Cliché Fanfic Thing: Time
Okay, if you just met that day, I highly doubt that you two would get together. You like him? Sure, I don't care, go nuts, but you would not get together that day/within 10 minutes of knowing them.
Another thing, make sure they date long enough before popping the question (this isn't a big deal but I thought I should add it). I read this one story where the reader and the boyfriend got engaged after 2 months. 2 MONTHS!!! The author simply played it off saying that you both knew you truly loved each other. No offense to this person but *cough* unrealistic *cough*.
