Dumb/Cliché Fanfic Thing: Author's Notes
I've said this before and I'll say it again cuz I'm annoyed:
Notice it's notes not note, because some people don't understand notes are supposed to be short and uncommon. They're either longer than the chapter or completely unnecessary, both are bad. But then there are those authors that decide it's necessary to put an A/N every other stinking chapter! Sometimes there's 5 in a row, or more A/Ns than actual story. I don't understand the need for so many, and half the time they're to tell you something you don't care about!
Annoying, unnecessary, and just straight up dumb.
Short ones now and then are fine, but make sure they matter. If you've got an interesting story to tell, I recommend keeping it brief.
