Dumb/Cliché Fanfic Thing: Unfinished Stories

Okay, okay, so you begin writing a story thinking 'I'll make it to the end, I've got inspiration and I love this person so it should be easy.' Little did you know, my dear reader, that in a month from now you will completely forget the story even existed, but when you remember, you will not bother to do anything with it.

Depending on the case, you should either delete the story or say that it is unfinished (and will probably never be updated again).

Deleting the story should probably be for one that has 1-3 chapters in it. The story hasn't gotten very far anyway, and you can always put it in a Microsoft Word Document if you want to keep it.

If it has actual value, most likely one with 10 or so chapters, then you could leave it up. Not saying it shouldn't be deleted, just saying you have more of a reason to keep it. You might want to put a note saying it probably won't be finished, or mark it as completed but put a note saying you won't finish the story.
