I'm Not Ok, I Promise. (A Zane~Chan FF)

Months went without any major trouble and Christmas was slowly nearing, Zane never really cared for it though. He mostly saw it as an opportunity to give out prank presents or just ruin Christmas for people he didn't like.
He could hear the sound of the snow cracking when his feet hit the ground, as he was walking to school, alone. Vylad was staying at one of his friends place, so when his parents weren't home Zane had the house all to himself. As of late, Zane also started going for long walks around the neighborhood, the fresh air seemed to help his ever present anxiety and made his thoughts lighter. 

Though there was one thing that kept nagging him, Chloe's brother. Zane had seen him hanging around in corners, keeping a close eye on him. Zane couldn't avoid thinking what a scumbag like him wanted. And he wasn't the only victim, Chris had been keeping an eye on Kawaii~Chan too, causing her to become more paranoid and nervous, following Zane or Chloe everywhere.

"Zane Kun!" He heard the sound of running feet nearing and turned around to see Kawaii~Chan. 

"Don't you take the bus?" He asked. 

"Kawaii~Chan does, but her alarm clock is broken so she was late and took this route to meet with Zane Kun on the way" Kawaii~Chan said. 

"Cool," Zane said and pulled his mask up higher as a shield against the snowfall. 

"So, is Zane Kun excited for Christmas?" She asked. 

"Not... Really," he answered without looking at her. 

"What? Zane Kun doesn't like Christmas?!" She said, more as an exclamation than a question. 

"No, sorry" Zane said and scratched the back of his neck. 

"Kawaii~Chan will change that!" Kawaii~Chan said. "Next Friday Kawaii~Chan will take Zane Kun and Chloe Sama to the Christmas market." Zane started smiling and let out a little laugh. 

"What is Zane Kun laughing at?" Kawaii~Chan asked. 

"Nothing," he answered, but it was hard to hide the smile. 

"Tell Kawaii~Chan!" She exclaimed. 

"It's just you're so... cute when you are trying to help," he said. Kawaii~Chan crossed her arms and put on a pout. That just made Zane laugh more and soon Kawaii~Chan was laughing too.

"What happened to you two that was so funny?" Chloe asked as the two reached the school. 

"Nothing," Zane said. 

"Okay..." she said and cleared her throat. "Good news of the day:... my sick stalker brother has been suspended from school for a week." 

"What did he do?!" Zane asked. 

"He got into a fight with some senior, what I've heard of it, wasn't exactly pretty," she said, she seemed everything but relaxed about it. Her fists were clenched. 

"Oh no! What happened?" Kawaii~Chan asked. 

"Well, he didn't tell me much but, let's just say the other guy left the place in an ambulance," she said and stared at the ground. 

"What?!" Zane exclaimed in disbelief. 

"Yeah..." Chloe said, brows furrowed. 

"Who was the other guy?" Kawaii~Chan asked. 

"I don't know," she said. 

"But he was a senior?" Zane asked. 

"And your brother didn't get hurt, like, at all?" 

"No," Chloe said, Zane could see it was nagging her, she wasn't exactly proud of her brother. 

"He wasn't always like this you know... ever since our father left, he's just been such a dick" she said. "Unlike me, I've always been a dick," she gave them a goofy smile, but Zane could still see the rage in her eyes. 

"Chloe Sama! It's no time for jokes!" Kawaii~Chan said. 

"Sorry, couldn't resist, " Chloe said. 

"Well, are we gonna celebrate?" Zane asked. 

"Zane Kun!" Kawaii~Chan said, and gave him a light punch. 

"Sorry... I didn't mean it..."

Zane kept thinking about Chloe's brother the rest of the day, what he was capable of, and of what Chloe mentioned, her father left her and her brother, seemed like they all had family issues.
