This is another one requested by _bookandmoviefeels ! I hope you like this one too! I had a lot of fun writing it :)

Tirelessly, you hacked at the tangle of legs which crawled towards you. The company had wandered into a nest where hundreds of Ungoliant Spiders lay in wait. They leapt upon the group in a great ambush. One by one each dwarf was separated from the group, and you found yourself bolting away from a particularly vicious black beast. The spindly creature clambered after you, moving so fast you could barely see it touch the ground. Whirling around, you slashed at the monster's face and body. It hadn't expected it, so you had the advantage as you jumped onto its back and swiftly plunged your sword through its skull. It shuddered beneath you before collapsing into a pile on the floor. A yelp in the distance caught your attention, as well as a few other spiders'. You knew who it was, who that terrified voice belonged to. And your heart stopped. Kili...

Racing ahead, you searched for him desperately. You ducked behind a tree, hiding from the other spiders. Peering through two leafless branches, you saw him, cornered by a great yellow spider which nipped and snapped at him angrily. You spied Kili's dagger across the forest floor- he must have dropped it. More beasts began to crowd around their soon-to-be dinner as they watched him tire. Instinctively, you drew an arrow from your quiver and nocked it to the bow string. You pulled your arm back, but realised the angle was all wrong. You would not hit the spider from where you were. Looking around, wide-eyed, you wondered how you would get close enough too him. Craning your neck to see the trees above, you thought No... Not closer. Higher. Swinging your bow over your shoulder, you gripped the bark tightly and began to climb. Sharp wood splintered your hands, and you even bled a little as you scaled the tree with ease. It had always been a talent of yours- climbing- so it took you mere moments to find a branch where you could perch, feet above the ground. Once again, you nocked your arrow and aimed at the spider. It wriggled and writhed while battling with Kili. You took a deep breath, relaxed your arm and... Woosh... Thunk. The hilt buried deep in the head of the beast. It screeched and shrieked as it searched for its attacker. You felt slightly sick, even sorry, as the creature stumbled around, unbalanced and helpless before hitting the ground. After a few minutes, it fell silent. Relieved, you sat back on the branch, not noticing the hairy critter that was creeping towards you. Below, Kili smiled up at you which made you blush. It was silly how easily he could get to you. You felt so flushed whenever he did something little like wink at you. Kili had not existed to you until the quest came around. Thorin, his uncle, had called upon you to join the company due to your excellent fighting skills, or that was what you were told... From the first time you saw Kili, you knew you'd been caught in a web of childish feelings. Of course, he knew how he made you feel and he couldn't leave you to suffer in peace. He wanted to have fun, so he flirted with you, ate dinner with you, brought you flowers, told you stories. What he found (though had not anticipated) was that he began to develop feelings for you too. Being as young as you both were, you believed it to be a horrible predicament. But, with a little reassurance from Bilbo, and a little encouragement on Bofur's part, Kili asked if he could have the honour of courting you. And now you fought together, lived together and learned together. It was a fairy tale, or as close as a dwarf could get to one.

While you were grinning down at Kili, the spider got closer and closer. From below a shout was heard "Y/N! Watch out!" Dwalin roared. You turned as the spider shrieked, its pincers reaching out for you. In shock, you jumped and took a step backwards. As you did so, you lost your footing on the branch and slipped. Your arms flailed as you hopelessly tried to grab onto something. Branches and thorns tore at your skin as you tumbled down through the mesh of trees. Covering your face, to protect your eyes, you were scraped and scratched and scarred by the endless wooden needles. Trying to brace yourself with your hands, something yanked your arm so aggressively it dislocated. Eventually you collided with the ground with such force you felt something crack. You were winded and couldn't move you were in so much pain. When Kili sprinted to your side and turned you over onto your back you cried out in agony. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Kili held your face gently, realising his mistake. On your back it was worse. Your chest ached unbelievably and it caused you to wheeze as you breathed. "OIN! Oin, quick!" Kili bellowed out into the darkness of the maze. Heavy footsteps could be heard and soon multiple figures towered over you. Someone pressed their hand into your torso, causing you such pain your reflexes kicked in and you struck them across the face with your right hand to get them away from you. A chorus of gasps sounded from the group and you pulled your hand close to your chest in guilt. Tears of anguish streamed from your eyes and pooled on the ground beneath you. Kili comfortingly stroked your hair, resting your head in his lap. Rubbing his face, Oin stepped closer to you once again and muttered "Her ribs have been completely shattered." The wheezing noise hadn't stopped but in fact worsened and it was becoming increasingly difficult to breathe. "Help her." Kili insisted. Oin tutted "What am I to do, boy? I can't check for splintering without my equipment, which if you haven't noticed, is gone!" Kili carefully stood, resting your head on the ground and shouted "Well then, what are we to do? Stand here like fools?! We must help her!" Kili held his hands to his chest, almost as if trying to steady his heart. You whimpered weakly and stuttered trying to take in breaths. "At least clean her other wounds." Kili pointed down at you. Oin nodded obediently and knelt beside you. He began with your hands, wiping away the blood with a cloth given to him by Bilbo. Then he cleaned the cuts on your arms, shoulders and chest. Kili cautiously watched, every so often dabbing a cut on your cheek with his own handkerchief.
