This is a part two of the Kili imagine from ages ago, so if you haven't read that one check it out first! This was requested by scarlet907, so I really hope you enjoy it.

Fists curled tightly, Kili slowly meandered out of the gates of Rivendell. He glanced back once, remembering that he was leaving behind his one and only desire- you. A few tears slipped down his cheeks as he blinked. Despite losing you, grieving for you, his love never wavered, because you were his. You told him so.

Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel had worked tirelessly to find a way to bring you back, but after two years, they had nothing. Kili was on the verge of madness when Elrond suggested he return to Erebor, to find his family so that they may grieve together. Kili protested furiously, his place was with you. But Elrond reminded him that he was the second in line to the throne, and that your death would be for nothing if he was not there to protect his homeland. Reluctantly, Kili packed his rucksack, taking one of your necklaces as a reminder of the pain, and fled.

Merely minutes into his journey, Kili could feel himself wanting to turn back. Deeper in the forest, the sky appeared as dark and angry as Kili's thoughts. Why should he have to go on? His heart was no longer intact. It had been ripped from his chest and trodden to the dirt mercilessly by the gods. And they had the audacity to take you from him?! Bellowing into the skies, Kili threw his bow aside. Maybe on his way back to Erebor, he would pick a fight with a couple of orcs. Just maybe, he wouldn't bother fighting back. Maybe that would be more honourable than killing himself. His chest rising and falling rapidly, he collapsed into the dust and rocked back and forth. For many seconds, silence pierced the forest completely. Nothing but Kili's broken heart beat...

Back in the chambers in Rivendell, Lady Galadriel watched over you quietly. She did not regret sending him away, yet in the short time he had stayed in Rivendell, she had noticed his affinity for the elven folk. Something about him gave her a feeling of ease and trust. Her eyes scanned your lifeless figure. Regret ached in her mind because she had been unable to save you. She had broken Kili's heart. She had failed you. Not many things in the world were certain, but death was absolute... Most of the time. Gandalf had always believed he would cheat fate, even in his most final moment. Though she could not restore it to your body, she could call upon it for a short time. For weeks, she had considered it. It was too dangerous at first, so she built her strength. Elrond would not allow it. But he wasn't there right now. Softly, Lady Galadriel began to chant

'Guím go dtí an Valar

leis an grásta na déithe

Seol ar ais anam fiú amháin

sin is féidir liom hail dhuit ó thar'

Silvery light flooded the room and Lady Galadriel braced herself. She was reaching into the other world. If it were to go wrong, she may be trapped in between worlds forever. Trying to find your soul in a sea of thousands was challenging but your purity could not be mistaken, she would know you when she saw you. Becoming drained, she desperately searched for you. A faint light could be seen amongst and wave of grey spirits. Faster than eyes could follow, her hand darted out and gripped the soul harshly. In a flash of lightning, a shivering and pale entity appeared above your corpse. Angelic, bright, sad.

Meanwhile, Kili battled with himself while he wandered. Night rolled over the world fairly quickly, but Kili had not anticipated the unusual lightning strikes which occurred a few miles behind him. Pulling his cloak around him he growled. If you were still with him, he would be holding you, making sure you were warm enough, kissing you while you giggled. Tugging slightly on your necklace which hung around his neck, he sighed. Even before he met you, he had not felt this lonely.
