So as a new day dawned and today you had an idea of how to make up a story about how you got the business card. You're just going to come calmly to your mother and just hope she doesn't see through your lies. You talked to your friends asking for a believable lie. They pondered for a while till Tim scared everyone.
"I got it!" He shouts
"Try not to give us a heart attack next time!" Hoodie adds
"Haha sorry" He scratched the back of his head
"Well?" You say
"Well, what?" He asked
Jane smacks him upside his head rolling her eyes
"Right, right" He rubs where she hit "Geez you hit hard"
"Just spit it out already" She sighs with annoyance
"Okay so you're going to say this guy came to school and had a table running applications for jobs" He starts
"Okay, I like where this is going" You say
"You'll say you went up and looked at what he had to show"
You nod
"Then say he goes into his bag and gives you a bissness card seeing that he likes your potential for the job"
"Hmmmmm" You think
"Doesn't it sound perfect?" He says with pride
"It needs more action" Hoodie jokes as Tim elbows him playfully
"Its better then what you'll come up with" Tim says back
"You think my mom will belive it?" You ask
"Hundred percent" Tim reassures you
"Hmmm, okay I'll do it" You say
On the walk home you guys walk a little slower then normal but you didn't mind this was nice. Talking to friends blocking out stress and boring reality.
"See you guys later!" You wave goodbye as you go inside
"Good luck with that job" Toby says quietly but loud enough for you to hear
You open the door and see your mom in the living room.
"Hey hun, how was school?" She said
"For one good, a guy presented his work at lunch and he gave me a job offer"
"That's lovely, what kind of work?"
"Erm...he helps teens get jobs" You lied "he has a wide variety of companies to move us to"
"Well, think long and hard about it sweetheart" She watched the TV "this will effect school, time with friends, and your time at home."
"I will mom I'll tell you if I call or not" You said knowing you would call anyway since it wouldn't hurt to make a few bucks every now and then.
