Chapter 4 ~ Like we're porn stars

It's been a year now. Exactly one year since I lost Hannah and Beth. I stayed close to Josh, calling him regularly. Sometimes I would need someone to talk to or sometimes he needed to keep his grip on reality. There were other times though when we would just talk and exchange stories to cheer each other up.

Though I talked to him regularly, I still hadn't seen him, or anyone else for that matter. I had called each person at least once though, pretending that I was "okay" Josh was the only one who knew the truth.

I had suffered from severe depression and anxiety. I'm still trying to get better but that thought got pushed further and further from my mind as I had begun to self harm. No one knew about this, not even Josh, he only knew about the depression and anxiety. He didn't even know of my anorexia. No one really did, since I live on my own.

Josh had his fair share of problems too though, I don't mean to make this all about me. He had told me he was seeing things and hearing voices. I told him he should seek help, which he did, he began going to therapy once or sometimes twice a week.

He had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and depression. That was all he had told me so I assumed that's all that was going on.

Josh had recommended that I see a therapist too but I had given him a hard pass. Nooo thank you, I can take care of myself.

Today was just like any other day, I sat on my couch curled up in a blanket watching (favorite movie) on Netflix for the thousandth time.

My phone gave an obnoxious buzz, telling me I had received a message. I paused my movie and picked up my phone to see who texted. I furrowed my brows when I saw that I had been put into a group chat with all of the gang. I was about to leave the group when a video was sent from Josh.

Me, Sam, Chris, Emily and Matt all read the message at the same time time. I pressed the video and Josh appeared on my screen.

"Hello friends and fans.. it's me. I know what you're all going to think 'whaat omigod no way Josh is fucking crazy' but just hear me out guys."

I tilted my head, confused on what he had to say but kept listening anyways.

"I'm inviting you all back to Blackwood Pines for the annual winter getaway! Awesome right? Look i-i know it'll be weird coming back but I just want to have a good time with my best friends, I mean real quality time together, sharing moments that we'll never forget."

A few tears slipped out of my eyes but I wiped them away and finished the video.

"I know it's going to be tough on us going back after what happened last year... But I know it would mean so much to Hannah and Beth that we're all together, thinking of them... Anyways! Let's party like we're fucking porn stars! Okay? And make this one trip we will never forget. Alright? Yes!" Josh cheered at the end of the video, causing me to chuckle.

Sam was the first to respond, saying she would be there. Then Chris and Emily. I shut off my phone, so I could think. I honestly didn't want to go back after what happened. I didn't want to see anyone. They would all see what horrible condition I was in because it's painfully obvious on account of my ghastly pale features and frail body.

Wait.. I'm being an ass. I have to think of Josh, not just myself. He wanted us all there and I know he's going to need someone to talk to while we're there. I mean he has Chris and Sam I guess but it wouldn't be the same, I knew that.

My phone starting ringing and I glanced at it to see Josh calling. I cleared my throat and pressed answer.

"Hey." I said plainly.

"Hey (n/n) you saw the video?"

"Yeah... I-i did."

"So?"

"So, what?"

"Are you coming ba- bud, buddy."

I laughed at his goof up and thought for a moment.

"I'm not sure. It's just so hard."

"That's what she said." Josh joked.

I burst out laughing, and Josh did too, after hearing me laugh. I held my side as I continued to laugh.

"Damn I don't think I've laughed that hard in forever." I giggled.

"Me either."

There was an awkward silence before Josh spoke up again.

"I miss you.."

"I miss you too Joshua." I whispered.

"Eww don't call me that." I could almost fell him cringing on the other side of the phone.

"You ruined the moment Joshua." I said, stretching out his name.

"Gross! Stop!" He laughed.

I chuckled and waited for Josh to say something, which created another awkward silence as he was probably waiting for me to say something too.

"Hey Josh?"

"Yes?"

"I-i think I'm going to come."

"What? No way! Really?!" Josh yelled happily.

I chuckled before responding. "Yeah, I'll be there for you Joshy."

"Thank you so much (y/n)."

"No problem J, see you soon."

"See you."
