chapter 21: the s-class trials

It has been a few weeks since me and Mira got married and she has been a little sick lately but she said she wouldn't want to bother Wendy with it i told her I wasn't going to let her go to the s-class trials she protested first but eventually gave up so I was on my way to Master's office "Hey master" i greeted the old man when I opened the door to his office "Hey gramps there is something I need to talk about" i said to him "What is it son?" he asked me "Listen it's about the s-class trials, Mira isn't going to go" i said "Why not?" Gramps asked "She's been feeling sick lately and she said she didn't want to bother Wendy she says it might be a cold but I do not want to take any risk I have already talked to her and we agreed she would stay behind" i told him about mine and Mira's conversation this morning "hmm very well now join me we're going to announce the nominations" he said walking out of the office so I naturally followed

"Listen up brats the time has come again for the annual S-class Trials" Master announced when the curtains of the stage went up showing me Gildarts and Erza. The announcement got many cheers from the guild "alright everybody shut up the Master's talking" Gildarts said making everyone fall silent "now I have been studying your actions entire year long I have been looking at your strengths and your heart and I came to these 8 nominees" he announced making everyone look to the stage in excitement "Natsu Dragneel" was the first name master called out "Gray Fullbuster" was the second after that
"Elfman Strauss" "Levy Mcgarden" "Juvia Locksar" "Cana Alberona" "Freed Justine" "and finally Mest Gryder, these are the 8 mages who are able to receive S-class now the boat leaves in one week use this as a wise time to train with your Partner" Master said "oh yeah guys I have some news for you guys" i started stepping forward "This year is going to be a bit different because your examinators are standing right in front of you" i called making the entire guild fall in silence "Now good luck to all of you" i said making my way to my home for packing since we S-class mages have to set everything up we had to leave tomorrow morning so I kissed Mira on her head and said a quick goodbye

I chose path A it because it was close to the shore and I was quite suprised to find my brother in law teamed up with Evergreen walking on the beach "do you think we got the serenity route?" Ever asked Elfman "i hope but the only thing that scares me is how close we are to the ocean" Elfman replied "Wait you don't mean?" Evergreen asked "Looking for me?" i asked a i raised from the sea when I said that their faces went pale "oh no the only one I didn't want to come across" Elfman gulped "i want you to give me every thing you got Elfman give Mira a reason to be proud of you" i called out he smiled "Thanks Kuro" he said I just nodded and got in battle stance "Fairy machine gun!" Evergreen yelled shooting her annoying bullets at me i just summoned a wave of water with a flick of my hand "beast soul: Lizard man" Elfman yelled as he used his take over Magic to storm towards me i grabbed my Katana and blocked his fist "Come on be a real man use your Magic" Elfman growled since his Take over had a effect on his voice "fine by me but you asked for it" i smirked "water Gods bellow" i yelled shooting water at them "im sorry Elfman but it ends now" i said as I started chanting "Oceans deep down listen to my command: unleash: Water Gods Floodwave" i said making a huge wave of water wash over them and when the water was gone Elfman was on the ground groaning "tell me are you done?"  i asked him I decided I would test his honor or Smartness about fighting a lost battle "Yeah i am there is no way I could beet you no matter how hard I tried" he said so I extended my arm to him "congratulations Elfman you passed my test" i said with a small smile Pearl came down to me with some healing Potions and gave a energy replenisher to me and the healing Potions to Evergreen and Elfman "Mira would have been proud" i said making him smile "go on" i said as I walked away I'm proud how you have grown from that little guy with his pet bird till the man you are now go on Elfman keep growing I thought to myself.
