August rolls around pretty quickly and before I know it I am all packed up with everything that four suitcases and two duffel bags can hold. I've dreaded this day for awhile now, but it's my one chance to go off to college and I feel like I need to take this opportunity now while I can. 

It was around noon and I had to be in Columbia by 5pm. I had everything ready to go including myself, I walked down the hall and into the living room, leaving all of my things there for whenever I left. My dad stood there leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest.

"Your mother would be so proud. I know she's smiling down at you,"

I smile, but try to change the subject, "Will you be okay without me?"

"Of course I will, honey. Will you be okay without me?" He asks and I laugh lightly.

"I'll try to be," I smile and give him a big hug.

"I'll help you load up," He tells me as we grab two suitcases each and a duffel bag and walk out on the front porch, that I won't see again until the holidays.

As soon as we get outside I see him standing there, in a black suit and tie as if he's ready for prom. His grandparents stand behind him with big smiles on their faces. I drop my bags as he drops to his knee.

My dad nudges the back of me gently and I walk down the stairs and over to him.

He takes his hand in mine and stands on one knee as he grabs something out of his pocket and I lose my breath.

"Adeline Rose Rally, you've made me the happiest man I've ever been in my life. You've changed me for the better and I can't see my future without you in it, so will you do the honors and marry me, baby?" 

Tears flow from my eyes as my hand uncovers my mouth and I shake my head, "Yes!" Our family begins to clap and he slides the beautiful diamond ring over my fourth finger and wraps his arms around my waist picking me up off the ground and twirling me around as I cross my arms around the back of his neck, holding him tightly.

"Harry, oh my god!" I say as he puts me down and I admire my ring. 

"I love you so much," He presses his lips against mine.

****** HARRY'S POV ******

And after that we had just enough time to grab dinner and come back to Adeline's house and we watched as she left the driveway, we both had tears in our eyes, but we both knew that this distance wasn't going to last forever. I was already making plans to see her in a couple of weeks and we had a lot of wedding planning to do.

Later that evening, she called me from her dorm room telling me she arrived safely and she was looking forward to buying a lot of stuff to decorate her dorm, she had the room to herself which worried me that she would get lonely, but there's so much to love about her and she's so nice that she can make friends so easily.

We stayed on the phone for hours that night, wedding planning, college talking, jobs, and so much more about our future together because we knew officially that we could really see each other in the future, we would be spending the rest of our lives together.

You don't have to know someone for years and years just to know that they're the one. I knew Adeline Rose for one year and three months and I knew she was the one the day I met her. I knew that she was the woman I wanted to spend my life with; so here we are.

Seven years later, Adeline moved back to Wilmington after college and we are living in two bedroom home about ten minutes way from our families, near the downtown area of Wilmington.

She changed her major throughout college multiple times, but she finally decided on becoming a Nurse Practioner and four years later she loved the job, she loves working with the kids now.

Me? Mr. Rally and I are now business owners of 'Styles & Rally MS' the "M.S" Stands for Mechanic shop. We had a shop downtown so are also living close to our current home, on the other hand, I've been writing a lot recently about this girl who changed my life.

And that was the story of me, Harry meeting Adeline in the summer of 1975.
