After TLO
Percabeth isn't together
Rachel

It was tied around her finger, and then jumbled into a ball around my feet.

Annabeth was sitting on a rock, by the lake, twirling her pen between her fingers. She had blueprints spread before her, and she seemed to be deep in thought.

I was sitting in the pavilion, watching the horizon. I loved the colors that reflected off the water, mixing together to create something beautiful.

I had a paint brush in hand, and a canvas to my left. I started my outlines for the painting, and slowly started filling in the blank spaces. Each time my eyes connected with the water, it reminded me off a sea-green that I loved.

I looked to the other side of Camp Half-Blood. Percy was sitting on the porch of his cabin, talking to Grover, I presumed. They laughed at something, and Percy's hair swept into his eyes. He lazy blew them out of the way, and I watched as the dark strands flew up and settled away from his sea-green eyes.

I felt the blush spread across my cheeks, and hastily look away, trying to focus on my painting. I got up to ask for a bottle of water, when my foot snagged on something, and I fell onto the marble floor.

"What the-?" I looked down to see a clump of red string surrounding my feet. I reached to pull it away, but it slipped right through my fingers. I tried again, but the same thing happened.

Frustrated, I left it alone and got up. It was still tangled around my feet, but wasn't limiting my walking. I grabbed a glass of water and drank, clenching my thirst.

I sat down in front of my painting again when the string around my legs glowed. Out of instinct, I pushed, and this time, I could touch it.

It flowed strong at my touch and I decided, to the heck with it. I picked the string up and followed its way.

It lead me down the hill, and towards the cabin. I looked around for more and tugged it a little harder. Just in case it was a prank by the Stoll brothers.

"You okay, Percy?" I looked up to see Grover looking at Percy strangely.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I think my hand just got caught on something."

My eyes flashed to the string and to Percy. I pulled the string, and Percy's finger lifted. I gasped, and then hit the ground when Percy and Grover looked up.

The red string was tied around his finger and I could see it.

I quietly slipped away and followed the other side of the string. It lead me to the beach and to a similar rock. Annabeth was twirling her pen still, and was bouncing her foot.

I pulled the string and her finger reacted, being lifted into the air.

It hurt seeing where it lead but what could I do?

I felt the tears in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall. I knew what this meant even if I wished I didn't.

I let the string fall to the ground and trudged back to the pavilion. I sat down and picked up my brush. I swept it across the canvas, and let the paint flow.

The finished product was two people, with a red string connecting them.

And I knew, it was going to be okay.
