The whole basketball team has gathered in the office. There is something important Coach Mark wants to talk about. It's somewhat funny to look all these giant men crowded in a tiny four-cornered office. Some are sitting on the couch while others are standing in the corner and even sitting on the floor talking and loudly laughing.

"Okay now, be quite everyone." Coach Mark orders. In an instant, the whole team becomes silent and listens to him. I am amaze by the respect these punks have for him to let them follow his orders in a single command.

Coach starts talking about the Diamond Cup. I listen to him with my eyebrows cross. I am trying hard to understand him but I really can't. All I could understand is that Diamond Cup is some kind of a competition.

"What is this Diamond Cup? It sounds so fancy." I ask Alexander who happened to sit beside me.

He looks at me suspiciously. "It's an inter-collegiate basketball competition that happens only every ten years. It's the biggest basketball competition for university basketball teams."

I nod and look away. I don't know anything about it but it sounds so prestigious and important. We're going to be busy from now on for sure.

"You don't know that?" He asks with a hint of surprise in his voice.

"Yeah."

"Really? Everyone who likes basketball knows about this."

I look back at him and open my mouth to say something but close it again. I want to say I am not a fan of basketball but I'm thankful I didn't say it. I roll my eyes at him instead.

I hear him grin.

"Melissa?" Coach Mark calls me.

"Yes coach?" I answer enthusiastically raising my right hand for him to find me.

"I want you to coordinate with the SPS office for this matter. Our university will be the host for this year's Diamond Cup. We should make sure that this would be memorable and the best so far."

My eyes get big all of a sudden. Crap. Don't tell me, I would be the one to organize this very important event? That's insane! I never had organized any event before except for my own birthday party.

"Don't worry. The SPS office will be the one to organize this event. I just want you to coordinate with them on behalf of the team." He says with a smile.

"That's a relief." I exhale and smile back at him. Relief floods through me. I feel so thankful all of a sudden. I scratch my head. How come coach knows exactly what I was thinking?

"Because you're easy to read." Alexander whispers.

I immediately twist my head to face him. Our faces are so close to each other. I can feel the heat of his breath brushing against my skin. We are looking at each other's eyes this close like as if we are the only ones in the room. I'm glad that we are at the back most part of the room where everyone can't see us.

"We are going to be very busy from now on, people. I want you to work hard to bring home the bacon." Coach Mark shouts. "Are you with me?"

"Yes sir!" The team responds as one in a loud scream. They punch their hands on the air intensifying their cheer.

Alexander is the one who first look away.

"Yes sir!" He shouts and punches his fist in the air like the rest of his teammates does.
