the little boy terrified of the monsters under his bed
asked his mother to chase them away
The mother asked,"which ones?"
He replied," the real ones."
She didn't have the heart to tell him
that the real monsters weren't under his bed
but rather outside his house, all around the world.
So she just said," there are no real ones under the bed,dear."
and left.
The little boy never understood what she meant.
Surely all monsters were huge, colored and scary?
It was later on when he saw them his own eyes
did he realize that the people he thought kept the monsters away
were the monsters themselves.
