Your hand goes slack in mine
your lips still in a smile
your shirtfront is wet from my tears
and your eyes still stare into mine
They try to take you from me
they try to pull us apart
and when they won
all I could do was scream
And on the final final day
when you lie in your coffin
you look almost asleep
except, that you aren't breathing
And in that moment
our time flashes by
and I'm powerless
all I can do is cry
I see you laughing, smiling
I see you in my arms
I see you kissing me, the ghost of which haunts me
and last, I see you asleep in my arms
My tears flow freely
and my knuckles are white
If only you were like that again
If only we could go back to the times
my last gift for you, my dear
my last kiss to you
but your lips are cold
and heart has given up
Our parting has come at last
they come to bury you
So I lay my last gift to you on your chest
an single black rose
