We Need A Plan

Clarke

I paced the room.  Much to my displeasure I had been forced to allow Lexa to return to her duties - though I had drawn the line at fighting, training, or anything else strenuous.  "Think Clarke think.  You need a plan.  Take out Pike and you can bring down whatever this is, you can keep the peace." I murmured to myself.

I continued pacing, trying to think of a plan.  Something to get rid of Pike and restore my mother or (slightly preferably) Kane to power.  I sighed, all plans that came to mind required me to go back to Arkadia and leave Lexa - and leaving Lexa was about the last thing I wanted to do right now.

"There's gotta be something." I growled to myself.  An idea popped into my head of having Lexa force him out of the position by ordering that Kane or my mom take charge.  I dismissed that quickly as Arkadia currently didn't take orders from the Commander.

I sighed and walked out onto the balcony, resting my elbows on it.  I looked over the city.  If I didn't do something this could very well fall apart - because of my people.

"If I had known that I pulled the lever to save the people who would do this...  I..." I couldn't finish.  I still would have pulled the lever.  I still would have saved my people.

"You and I both know what has to happen." Lexa said sadly.

I didn't startle at her voice, merely shook my head.  "No.  I can't leave.  Not while you're still injured." I said, using that as an excuse.

"Our people need you Clarke.  It doesn't have to be permanent - just until we can remove Pike from the picture." She said, sounding just as upset with the idea as I was.

"But even then I don't have a plan!" I exclaimed.

"Then we need one.  And we'll figure it out together." She said, offering me her hand.

I bit my lip, hesitating a moment, then took it.  "Promise me that we'll still be standing at the end of this." I said, looking at our entwined hands.  Of all things that I had left to lose, Lexa couldn't be lost.  Without her I would fall apart, I wouldn't have anyone to turn to for anything.

"I'll be waiting for you the moment you return.  That's not to mention the fact that you can radio me with the walking talkers and tell me your plan.  I can help in anyway needed." She said.

I didn't miss how she avoided promising it and instead said she would be waiting for me.  I nodded, still not liking this.

"Alright.  But first I need to know what I'm doing." I said.

As if on cue the radio that connected us to Arkadia (or at least the Arkadians that were working against Pike) flared to life, "Raven to Polis.  Come in Polis."

We walked over and I picked up the mouth piece, giggling as I remembered Lexa had called it a  'walking talker' rather than a 'walkie talkie'.

"Clarke Griffin and Commander Lexa here, what have we got Rave?" I asked.

"First off I like the nickname.  But seriously, we need help.  We can't think of any plan that would work other than Lincoln and O basically committing suicide." Raven's voice replied.

I sighed before pressing the button so she could hear me, "I'll be there soon." I said.

"Clarke, you-"

"I do Raven." I said my voice beyond soft as I thought about leaving Lexa.  I remembered her turning her back on me and walking away at Mount Weather and now I was going to do it to Lexa.  But was it really the same?

"It isn't Clarke, this is for our people." Lexa said softly, her breath tickling my neck and making a shiver run down my spine.

"Alright.  Raven over and out." And with that the radio on the other end went dead.

I sighed, "We still need a plan." I said.

"You will figure one out, first you need to know what is actually happening." Lexa said.  "I know we can do this Clarke, together."

So funny story.  For some reason whenever I went to type 'plan' in this chapter I typed 'plane'.  I even tried to title the chapter/part 'We Need A Plane'.  Yeah.  I really don't know why.
