Clarke

I smiled as I watched Lexa prepare for departure.  She had already called off the barricade and Trikru was helping us get back on our feet.  "You know you'll be saying good bye soon, right?" My mother asked gently, coming to my side and following my gaze.

"What do you mean Mom?" I asked, confused.

"You're home now Sweety.  Do you really want to go back to Polis rather than staying here, at home?" My mother asked.

Home.  After Mount Weather the term seemed foreign, like something out of a fantasy.  However that had changed since I'd been dragged to Polis.  Lexa had shown me so many things, including where my home was.

"This isn't home Mom, not anymore.  It stopped being my home after Mount Weather." I said softly.

"But you're back now Clarke, we can make it home again." My mother countered.

I shook my head, "I can't make it home again Mom, not without Lexa." I said quietly.

"Lexa is going to hurt you again Clarke." She warned.

I shook my head, "She's not going to, I know she won't." I said.  I remembered those three words that she'd told me after she had woken up after reopening her bullet wound helping me escape.  They had made the world seem perfect, like everything was right where it was supposed to be.

"Clarke I'm trying to look after you.  Lexa is dangerous and is going to hurt you."

"You're right Mom.  Lexa is dangerous.  But only to her enemies, not me." I growled.

"You're staying here Clarke, where you belong.  That is the end of this." My mother said.

I glared at her, "I'm leaving tomorrow whether you like it or not." I spat, then turned and walked into the Ark.

I didn't see Lexa that night  - which worried me since we'd been sleeping in my room.

When I stirred the next morning, the air cold around me since Lexa still hadn't shown herself, I hurried to get ready.

I hurried outside to see the patrol gathering and walked over to Lexa, who had - for the first time since she'd arrived - put on face paint.

"You weren't going to leave without me, right?" I said, a teasing note in my voice.

"I heard you decided to stay, I was going to let you sleep." She replied, voice void of emotions.

"What?!?" I asked, shocked.  Where had she...  My mother hadn't...  She didn't...

"Your mother told me yesterday that you told her you wanted to stay." Lexa said, all of her walls up so that I could only see the sadness in her gaze.  She had.  My mother had.

"I never said that.  I told her that this wasn't my home anymore and that I was leaving." I said, turning on my heel and heading for the Ark, "I'll be back in time to leave!" I called over my shoulder.

"Alright!" Lexa replied, happiness in her voice now.

I stalked towards the medical bay and stormed in.  My mother was tending to a boy's knee which had been scraped, but turned to me as I entered, "What is it Clarke?" She asked worriedly.

"Drop the act.  You told Lexa I wasn't leaving." I snapped.

"I did Clarke, but only to protect you." She said.

"Well too bad because I'm leaving.  I don't know what happened to you Mom but the mother I know would want me to be happy.  And Lexa makes me happy." I growled, then turned on my heel and returned to Lexa so we could go home.

Home to Polis.  Then again, Lexa was my home.  Wherever Lexa went, that was my home.  That's where I'd go.
