Clarke

Three days.  Three days too many that I'd been doing what I was about to do for a fourth.  I hated it.  I hated everything about it.  I hated the words that left my mouth and the way they felt on my tongue.  I hated talking about her like I had to.  I hated that I had to do this to him.  At this point I didn't even want to talk to him.

But as I approached the black-haired boy I forced a smile, "Hey Bell." I said, a happy hum in my voice.  Another thing I hated.  Having to act like everything was fine and dandy when I was preparing to not only betray someone who thought I was their friend - and had feelings for them potentially - as well as murder someone else.

"Hey Clarke." He said, smiling warmly and looping his arm around my waist as I sat down.  It took every ounce of self-control not to react to the touch from the boy.

"We were just talking about the oh-so-great Commander." One of Bellamy's friends sneered - I think her name was Jasmine.

I bit my tongue to hold in the initial defensive statement and replied, "Yeah, she's awful." The words burned on my tongue, just another thing to add to the list of things I was saying that weren't true about Lexa.

"You stayed with her, what was she like?" The woman asked eagerly.

"She seemed nice but she just wanted what she wanted and nothing else.  She's heartless and ruthless, honestly I don't know what I ever saw in her." I said, feeling Bellamy tense beside me I flashed him a smile, blinking at him in what was supposed to be a fond gesture.

He must have bought it because he relaxed, "Yeah, I mean she said she'd help us and then walked away the first chance she got.  She a lying, traitorous, coward."

I closed my eyes for a moment, wondering - not for the first time - why I was doing this.  "I couldn't agree more." I said, forcing my voice to be strong and not falter.  I didn't know if I could keep this up until Monty had the poison ready.

"Clarke, I need your help." Raven said, walking over, giving Bellamy a stiff nod of acknowledgement.

"Why me?  Why not someone you like?" I growled, keeping up my facade as I stood.

"Because you're the only one that will understand what I'm saying because I don't know where Monty or Sinclair are." She said, grabbing my hand and dragging me off.

As soon as we were alone my facade crumbled, "What is it?"

"A) We don't have as much time as we thought, Lincoln and Octavia are going to kill Pike in three days.  B) The poison will be ready in two because Monty is amazing and did weird chemistry stuff!" She said,

I nodded, "Alright.  That's good, but I need to make sure Bellamy trusts me enough." I said, then turned on my heel and walked away.  Mentally I didn't know if I'd be ready in two days.  I guess I'll have to be though.
