Talking

(Don't worry! The main focus is Clexa but we're just focusing elsewhere for a bit.)

Raven

I grinned at Luna, my heart thumping in my chest.  I'm pretty sure she doesn't understand what it means to be my girlfriend - or what a girlfriend is - but I can explain later.

"So when is that demonstration of yours?" She asked, smiling softly at me.  It was an amazing sight.  She was amazing.  And beautiful.  And...  Yeah I need to stop.

"It can be after breakfast." I said, smiling at her.

"Sounds good to me, I have nothing else to do - other than maybe talk to Lexa later." She said.

"Talk right?" I didn't stop myself quick enough to stop the question leaving my lips.

She flinched, hurt and pain in her gaze, "Yes talk.  Just talking." She said quietly.

I stopped walking and grabbed her hand to stop her, which worked.  "Luna I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that.  I don't even know why I said it." I took a deep breath.  If there was one thing romance books and movies from Old Earth could teach you, it was that relationships with secrets or hidden facts fall apart.  "I'm scared that one of us is going to do something dumb and that we're going to lose each other." I said, looking into her brown eyes that were really captivating.

She nodded, "I understand.  With my history with my sister you're worried that I will try something and you'll lose me." She said.  Her voice was merely stating the facts, not accusing me.

I sighed, my gaze falling, "Yeah." I admitted.

Letting go of my hand she raised my chin so I had to meet her gaze, "I understand Raven.  But I promise, I won't do anything to get me taken away from you." She said.

I smiled, "Thank you." I said.

She smiled back, "You're welcome." She chuckled, "So what did you say to Lexa when you talked to her about me?" She asked, switching topics.

Oh.  That.

Flashback

I slipped into Luna's cell, carrying a small basket of food and water for her.  No need for anyone to know I'd been here - other than the guards obviously.

I laid the basket beside Luna's sleeping form and went to leave when she grunted.  I turned back to see her stirring.  Great.

She opened her eyes slowly, my breath hitching for some reason as my heart rate picked up.  Not knowing what to do but seeing the fearful, confused look on her face I walked back over, sitting down and resting a comforting hand on her shoulder, "You're okay." I said softly, my voice calm and hopefully reassuring.

She looked up at me, confusion in her gaze and still looking partly asleep, "Where am I?  What happened?" She asked groggily.

"You're back in your cell - for now at least. I shot you with a tranquilizer so you wouldn't kill the Commander." I said gently, though a hint of pride slipped into my voice as I mentioned the tranquilizer making me grimace mentally.  I am so stupid around this woman!  What she does to me is crazy - and I'm not sure if it's bad crazy or good crazy.

"Thank you." She said, smiling slightly at me.  If that's how that small of a smile looks on her, I want to see her truly smile.

"You do know I technically shot you?  Right?" I asked, puzzled.

"Yes, but you also stopped me from killing my sister." She said.  I could see the pain she'd been through in her eyes and how relieved she was she hadn't caused others pain and herself more.
