Alpha Raptor: Tidus

Issac was on his phone starts to ring, letting him know that someone was trying to call him. He pushes a button on the steering wheel of his Jeep to answer his phone. "Hello. May I ask who is calling?"

"It's me, Y/n. Mind coming over?"

"What happened?"

"You are not going to believe what Henry signed me up for! Hey settle down. Your food is almost ready..." Screeching can be heard in the background.

"Alright I'm on my way. I have a good guess as to what you got involved in." Issac hangs up the phone. "Y/n may be in way over her head." It's takes about ten minutes to get to Y/n's house.

Y/n was sitting in the living room on the couch. The Alpha Raptor, a newly named Tidus, was curled up asleep on Y/n lap. Y/n was playing Final Fantasy X on her PS4. She was at the part where Tidus and the gang were under the ice when Tidus was asking about the Hymn of the Fayth. Y/n glances down at Tidus, the Alpha Raptor, which she affectionately named Tidus after her favorite character in Final Fantasy X. "Hard to believe that the Hymn made you fall asleep." She laughs quietly. She hears the front door open and looks up and sees Issac walk into the living room.

"So this is what InGen is involved with. More hybrids..." Issac sits down in the chair next to the couch. "So that screeching I heard in the background was that raptor hatchling?"

"Yeah. This little guy was complaining that he wasn't getting his food fast enough. In case you are wondering what kind of hybrid he is, he's an Alpha Raptor. According to the files I was giving along with the incubator with four other eggs, the Alpha Raptor is a genetically modified Velocaraptor."

"Bad enough you work hard enough for InGen as it is but now you are giving the responsibility of raising the new hybrids." Issac looks over at the Alpha Raptor. "So what did you name him?"

"I named him Tidus after one of the characters in Final Fantasy X. May sound a bit cliche, but it is better than not naming him." Y/n sets the PS4 controller down and scratches Tidus along his back, causing him to stretch out like a cat when you scratch a sleeping cat along it's back. "But what I want to know why is that why I was chosen to hand raise these hybrids."

"Maybe InGen wants to try a different method of controlling the dinosaurs. By seeing you as their mother, may make them more easy to handle."

Y/n shakes her head. "It may not work. They may adapt just like the Indominus Rex but you never know." Y/n picks back up the controller. She gets to the point in Final Fantasy X where Tidus finds himself stranded in a desert on Bikanel Island. She saves the game at the nearest Save Sphere and turns off the game. "Any day now or possibly sooner, the other four eggs will hatch." She looks over to Issac. "I think I'm going to be in way over my head with this."

"If you want my help with raising the hybrids I can help," said Issac.

Tidus stretches again and wakes up. He looks up at Y/n and opens his mouth. Y/n boops him on the nose. "If you are hungry again, you'll have to wait for me to..." Tidus nips at Y/n's hand letting her know he wasn't going to wait, only to end up getting booped on the nose again.

"Seems like he's not going to wait." Issac laughs.

Y/n shakes her head and gets up, setting Tidus in the couch. "Keep an eye on Tidus." She heads into the kitchen. Tidus jumps down off of the couch and runs into the kitchen before Issac could catch him. Tidus run up to Y/n, screeching at her. Y/n reaches down and scratches him on his back. "You're just as a bad a cat when it wants food." She picks him up and sets him on the counter so he could watch Y/n cut the meat into small pieces. "Now what am I going to do with you when you get too big to live inside the house." She feeds him a piece of meat.

A week had gone by and the other eggs still haven't hatched. Tidus, over the week, had a growth spurt. He was almost as tall as Y/n. It was early in the morning, six o'clock to be exact, when Y/n gets rudely woken up by Tidus jumping on the bed.

"Hey!" Y/n snaps for being woken up by Tidus. She rubs the sleep from her eyes and find herself nose to nose with Tidus. "Alright you scaly brat. What do you want this time?"

Tidus tilts his head to the side and considers his "mom's" question before booping her on the nose with his nose. He bares his teeth as his way of "laughing".

"Hungry or did you just want to bug me?" Y/n laughs. "Most likely hungry." Y/n gets out of bed and changes out of her pajamas into F/c pants and f/c shirt. "How about we changes things up this morning." Tidus follows Y/n out of the bedroom and downstairs to the kitchen. He stands in the doorway watching "mom" pull something long and blue out of the fridge.

Y/n pulls a frying out of one of the cupboard. "How about trying some scrambled eggs this morning." She heads over to the stove and turns on the burner. She glances over and sees Tidus watching her. "Hopefully you'll like scrambled eggs if not I can just have InGen bring in more food for you."

Y/n was sitting in the room with the incubator. She was watching the eggs again for the sixth time that week. One of the eggs was starting to hatch but this one was taking it's time. While waiting for the eggs to hatch, Y/n has read though the files that she was given about the hybrids she was going to raise. She was beginning to doze off when she hears a knock at the front door. She goes to answer the door and to her dismay it was Henry Wu. "Hello Henry. To what do I owe for you paying me a visit? If you are here for my report on Tidus, I'll have it to you by tomorrow."

"I'm not here to collect your report. I'm here to tell you some good news. Mind if I come in?" Henry Wu asks.

"Be my guest." Y/n steps aside so Henry Wu could come into her house. She wouldn't admit it, but she wasn't happy in general with him since it was he who had assigned her to Project Hybrid, giving her the care and responsibility of hatching and raising the hybrids. She watches Henry as he sits down on the couch. "Tea or coffee?" Y/n asks him.

"Coffee will be fine. Creamer and no sugar if you could, please." Henry watches Y/n head into the kitchen. He keeps his eyes on the kitchen doorway when he starts to hear growling. He looks for the source and sees it's Tidus. "I see the Alpha Raptor is growing well. What have you been feeding him?"

Y/n comes out of the kitchen with a coffee cup. "Hope you don't mind instant instant coffee. A little low on supplies since we haven't had any new supplies in while. To answer your question, I've been feeding in moderation of chicken and beef. But this morning I changed things up and fixed Tidus scrambled eggs."

"Tidus? You named him Tidus...Interesting name to name a Velocaraptor." Henry takes the cup of coffee from Y/n. "How's have things been raising the Alpha Raptor?"

"When he first hatched, he was just as bad as a cat, begging for food. He slept in cat bed before outgrowing it. Then he sleeps at the foot of my bed." Y/n sits down in her chair. Tidus stands by her, glaring at Henry. She secretly laughs in her head. She found it found it very funny that Tidus didn't like Henry. "So any news as to when the new paddocks for the hybrids?" She reaches up and scratches Tidus on his nose, earning herself a soft growl as Tidus closes his eyes in contentment

"They should be done in two more weeks until they are finished. The aviary should be finished by the end of the month. Since we do expect the Ankyloranodon to be hatched by then."

Y/n listen to Henry as he explains as how each paddock will be made for each of the hybrids. She was trying to read him. She had a feeling there's more to Project Hybrid than just hatching and raising hybrids. "I just hope I'm wrong," Y/n thinks to herself as she continues to listen to Henry while keeping Tidus passive so he doesn't attack Henry.
