Bonding

*Issac's and Y/n POV*

Y/n and Issac for Tidus' return after his hunt. Y/n gets down from the tailgate from where she is sitting. She goes to the passenger door and opens it, taking out the cat carrier that contained Ultima. "How about we get you out of there so you can get some fresh air." She walks a bit away from the truck before setting the carrier down in the grass. She sits down in front of it and opens it. "Come here, Ultima," said Y/n. Ultima causiously leaves the cat carrier and hesantly steps onto the grass, squeaking in surprise at the feel of grass beneath his feet. "It's okay. The grass isn't going to hurt you." Y/n coaxes Ultima to come closer to her and holds her hand out to him. Ultima sniffs her hand before making a worried trilling sound. "I'm not going to hurt you either." She gently pets Ultima on his head before picking him up, making him squeak in surprise again. Issac comes over and sits down next to Y/n.

"At least he has calmed down somewhat," said Issac as he shows Ultima his hand, causing Ultima to growl a bit. "Hey don't growl. I fed you, remember?" He boops Ultima on the nose. "Besides I'm going to help your mom take care of you."

"It would be best if he bonds with you too since it's going to be quite the effort to raise him." Y/n gets up and sets Ultima in Issac's lap. "Stay Ultima. Be nice," said Y/n in a stern voice. She goes into the truck to grab the bag of beef jerky that Issac had brought with and sits back down next to Issac. She opens the bag and hands Issac a piece of beef jerky. As soon as Ultima smells the beef jerky, he starts begging for a bite.

Issac breaks off a piece of beef jerky. "Be patient, Ultima." He shows Ultima the piece of beef jerky. Ultima snaps the piece of meat up from Issac's fingers, tearing it to pieces before eating. "What I am going to do is start ordering cattle to be flown in so that way this guy can eat. It's going to be a while before he will have ample prey to hunt." Issac pets Ultima since Ultima was still preoccupied with the beef jerky.

"You do have a point. It's bad enough as it is that you had to help feed Tidus when he had his growth spurt. He went through at least ten pounds of hamburger and least nine pounds of chicken," said Y/n as she watches Ultima as he eats the jerky, making sure he was eating okay.

"Don't forget the five ounce jar of honey that Tidus got into when you had to go back to the office." Issac laughs.

Y/n rubs the bridge of her nose in annoyance. "Don't remind me. I never knew it was possible for a Velocaraptor to have a sugar rush, let alone like honey. Whatever honey that you brought for me, I have to hide it. But even then he still manages to find it." She sighs. "Speaking of Tidus, he should be back anytime now."

"True. But it still never hurts to spend time with you, Y/n," said Issac with a smile, making Y/n blush. During the few weeks that Y/n has had Tidus before Ultima hatched, he and Y/n have grown a bit closer. Not to the point where it was a more serious relationship since it was still a growing relationship.

*Tidus' POV*

Tidus makes his way back to the truck, carrying a piece of Parasaurolophus in his mouth, back for Ultima. Tidus was taking his time to get to the truck, since he knew that Y/n and Issac needed to bond with Ultima which was very important. "Bad enough mom says I'm going through what humans call a rebelous teenage phase. Which is odd now that I think about it," Tidus thinks to himself. He snorts in amusement. "Which in fact is funny since I'm not even human." He sees Y/n and Issac in the distance sitting in the grass. He calls out which sounded muffled since he still had the piece of meat in his mouth.

*Issac's and Y/n's POV*

Y/n looks up and sees Tidus running towards them. "He's back." Y/n gets up from sitting in the grass and walks towards Tidus, with Ultima following closely at her heels. "Tidus I told you not to bring back your kill," said Y/n. Tidus growls a bit and looks down at Ultima, dropping the meat into the ground. Ultima walks up to the piece of meat and sniffs it. Once he got the scent of blood on his nose, he starts tearing into it. "Oh you brought the meat for Ultima. I thought you brought it back to me." Tidus snorts and bares his teeth "smiling". Y/n leans down and pets Ultima while he ate, making him growl. She continues to pet Ultima until he realized that she wasn't going to steal his food. She stands back up. "So did you have a good hunt, Tidus?" Y/n asks. Tidus nods his head, making Y/n laugh. "As soon as Ultima eats his fill, we're heading home. I'm sure you are tired from hunt."

After Ultima was done eating and put back into the cat carrier with hardly any complaint, which surprised both Issac and Y/n, Tidus was loaded back into the truck. After everyone was buckled in, Issac turns the truck around and drive back toward the gate.

"Hopefully the guards won't try to pull the same stunt like they did earlier," said Issac.

"You'll never know. They might not but I wouldn't put it past them to try and shoot Tidus again," said Y/n.

*Tidus' POV*

Tidus watches the trees go by and he sees the fence come into view followed by the gate. "Not those humans again." He rolls his eyes in annoyance. He wanted nothing more than those two guards dead. For one thing they tried to shoot him as well as hurt mom with that loud noise that hurt his ears as well. He growls as the truck rolls to a stop. He growls again.

"Behave back there, Tidus." Y/n said banging on the roof to get his attention.

Tidus calls out to let Mom know he will. But that didn't mean he won't try to scare the guards. He smirks and turns his attention back to the gate, watching it open. Right as the truck pulls through the gate, Tidus snaps his jaws at the guards, making them jump. Tidus laughs knowing that the guard would have to be more careful around him. As the truck goes down the dirt road, Tidus starts to notice that there was an electric fence on both sides. He sniffs the air, catching a weird scent in the air. He growls again but this growl was more throaty, more threatening. He notice that there was movement past the fence, behind the trees. He could tell it was big and it could mean trouble later on.
