Paradeinonychus: Vincent and Office Trouble

Two months go by with little incident at Y/n's place. Another egg had hatched, which was a Paradeinonychus. It had surprised Y/n a lot. She didn't expect his egg to hatch for another week or so. But what surprised her even more was that the other two eggs were getting close to hatching as well. The construction workers of InGen labs were working round the clock to get the paddocks finished now since the eggs were hatching way ahead of schedule, much to Henry Wu's surprise as well. Over the two months, Ultima had a growth spurt and nearly trippled in size, making him half as tall as Y/n's house. The other lab workers warned Y/n not to get too attached to them for once their paddocks we're finished, they were going to be moved in and no longer be able to stay in her house. But that didn't really work since Tidus escaped repeatedly from his paddock. Because of this, the dinosaur handlers as well as Henry Wu gave up on keeping Tidus in his paddock.

*Y/n's POV*

It was summer now and Y/n was outside the house hosing Ultima down with water to help keep him cool. Y/n worked hard to keep they hybrids cool during the hot summer months. But keeping Ultima cool was no easy task. "Hey scales for brains," said Y/n as she pats Ultima on his right flank. "Get up. I'm going to take you to the watering hole to cool you down." Ultima growls in agreement. He tended to get grumpy in the hot weather. Even though he had quite the temper, he was always calm around his mom. He knew she wasn't like him. She didn't have armor of an Ankylosaurus on her back, the tail spikes of a Stegosaurus, or the three face horns of a Triceratops, he knew her skin was soft so he was always careful around her. He gets up from the ground and shakes the water off. He starts walking towards the direction that he he knew where the watering hole was. Y/n struggles to keep up with Ultima which wasn't easy. It takes a few minutes for Ultima to get to the watering hole.

*Ultima's POV*

Ultima gets into the water and sinks down as far as he can go so he can still be seen by mom. "I should go see if Mom is coming." He gets up out of the water and heads back towards the house to see if Y/n was coming. He liked the fact that he had free roam from the house to his paddock which was kept open at all times. He was one of the bigger hybrids on the island even though Tidus told him there already is an Omega Rex on the island. He didn't like the idea of that. That meant there was something out there as big as him which could easily go on a rampage if it wanted. "That Rex is better off dead if it comes near my family." He roars. He was furious of the fact that the "men in white" were creating, what his mom called hybrids, more every day. He hears Tidus answer is roar with one of his calls. Even though Ultima wouldn't admit it, he actually liked the idea of having a family.

*Y/n POV*

Y/n was almost out of breath by the time Ultima came to see if she was coming to the lake. "Yes I'm coming Ultima. You don't need to worry." Y/n puts her hands on her knees, trying to catch her breath. She looks up to see Ultima is only a few inches from her head. She puts his hand on his nose. "I'm not as big as you nor do I have legs as long as you. So hold your horses and be patient." Ultima puffs out a breath of air on Y/n, to let her know he was sorry.

It takes another fifteen minutes to get back to the lake since Ultima had to slow his pace so he was forced to keep up with Y/n. Once they get back to the watering hole, Ultima dives right back into the water, making a big splash in the water, getting Y/n soaked. Y/n laughs at Ultima's antics and especially at the fact that he only had his head showing out of the water. "Give me a minute and I'll be out there with you." She wades out a ways into the water before diving into the water. She swims out to Ultima. After a bit of struggle, she climbs on top of his head and sits between the horns right on his eyebrows. "Just think. In a about a week or so or maybe even in a few days, you could have a brother and a sister on the way. Or maybe two more brothers." Ultima snorts in displeasure. "I know we don't have a big enough house for everyone. We almost didn't have enough room for you when you hit your growth spurt." Ultima swims out further in the lake, making sure Y/n stays on his nose without being knocked off by the wake of the water.

*Tidus' POV*

Tidus was laying under the tree in the front yard. It was his turn to watch Vincent, the Paradeinonychus. He yawns. He was bored while watching Vincent. "I'm bored." Tidus looks over at Vincent who was practicing trying to hunt the tip of Tidus' tail. Tidus snorts at Vincent, trying to get his attention. Vincent was about to attack Tidus' tail when he looks in the direction of the new sound he heard. "Come." Tidus gets up. "We're going to go see Mom." Vincent follows after Tidus, squeaking in protest. Tidus looks back at Vincent as he continues down the road to the lake. He wanted to cool down in the water as well. The shade wasn't doing the trick for him anymore.

*Y/n POV*

Y/n was dozing the shade of the trees, watching Ultima swim through the water. She was almost asleep when she hears Tidus call out to her. She waves lazily and rubs the sleep from her eyes. Tidus comes over to her and sniffs her face before deciding to lick her. "Go swim if you want. Ultima won't let you drown, Tidus," said Y/n. Tidus calls out to Ultima, telling him to come back to shore. Vincent curls up by Y/n, content to be next to mom for the time being. Y/n was about to doze off again when her cell phone starts to ring. She answers it. "Hello?" She tries to shake the sleep from her voice.

"Good afternoon, Y/n."

Y/n recognized the voice on the other line. "What do you want, Henry?" She wasn't all to happy to have her somewhat lazy day ruined by Henry Wu.

"I need you to come back to the office. We had Avery call in sick. So I thought I'd call you first to see if you'd like to take his shift."

"I'll need a few things before I agree to come in and take over Avery's shift."

"What is it you need, Y/n?"

"First of all I need a lot of groceries now since taking over Project Hybrid, I had to deal with three dinosaur-sized growth spurts. The Ultimasaurus had taken his toll for this month. He trippled in size. I still have the Amargospinus and the Ankyloranodon. In case you haven't forgotten. Also I need new furniture like a couch and a couple of chairs. Their claws destroyed most of it."

"I see. But you do have a point. Alright I agree to what you need. When you get to the office, just write a list of things you need and I'll have your things brought in on the next boat. See you when you get to the office, Y/n."

Y/n hangs up her phone before Henry can ask her to stay longer at the office.

*Time skip to midnight*

Y/n was asleep at her desk. She had finished going through Avery's files and even found a hidden project that InGen was trying to develope. She had managed to get a copy of those files before any of the other staff could pick up on what Y/n was doing. She struggles to wake up and finish more of her paperwork. She was once again having a hard time keeping herself awake. The room felt uncomfortable to her.

*Issac's POV*

Issac was finishing up for the night when he walks by Y/n cubicle. He sees her half asleep sitting in her chair. "Y/n when did you get here?"

"About four o'clock yesterday afternoon. Henry called me and said that Avery called our sick."

"Weird. He's still sick?" Issac asks.

"Still? What do you mean still?" Y/n asks in complete confusion.

"Avery is still sick and in the hospital from a week ago from a snake bite, remember? He was working on the Parasaurolophus's paddock when it happened." Issac watched as  Y/n's eyes go wide in surprise then narrow in anger.

"You mean to tell me..." Y/n shakes her head. "I need to go home and rest. I'm not really feeling well right now."

"Alright. Get your stuff together and I'll give you a ride home. Most likely your "kids" are anxious for you to come home. Y/n laughs weakly as she gathers her things and leaves. Issac watched her leave before following her out. He knew they were in for a rude awakening when the other hybrids hatch.
