*Atlas' POV*
After about a week after the incident with the fallen tree, Y/n decided to take Issac, Tidus, Jade, Vincent, Ultima, and Atlas to the mall. She thought it would be a good idea for them to get out of the cabin for a while and explore the mall like most teenagers do. Atlas liked the idea. He looked forward to see what the Mall of America was like. After checking out several of the stores before deciding to stop in one of the stores and buy a sword. He had to argue with the store owner and show them his ID as well as have help from his mom to buy the sword since the store owner didn't want to sell it since he though Atlas is underaged. Even though Atlas was technically still a hybrid dinosaur, an Amargospinus as matter of fact, he was by human years the age of nineteen. That was one thing he couldn't understand still. According to his father, Issac, it was because of his hybrid DNA that caused such a huge jump in years. Atlas sits down in the food court, with his newly bought sword propped up against the table. He pulls out the receipt on the table for the purchase of the sword in case someone gave him trouble about purchasing the sword. He sets his plate of food down. He stopped at the Chinese restaurant that was in the food court and bought himself some fried rice as well as some vegetable lomein. He also got hot and spicy chicken and Mongolian beef as well. He didn't really care if it was a lot of food, he was pretty hungry. He was about to take his first bite of food when he felt like he was being watched. He looks up from his plate of food and sees a girl standing at the other side of the table. "Mind if I sit with you?" She asks politely. Atlas contemplates a bit before making a decision. He looks the girl over. He could tell she was a bit shorter than he, 5'5" compared to his 6'3" height. She had long black hair and hazel colored eyes. He looks at the features of her face and could tell she wasn't wearing any makeup. He shrugs his shoulders. "Might as well. I have time to kill before the rest of my family gets here. By the way whars your name?" Atlas asks.
"My name is Haylie. Did you just move here recently? I've never seen you here before. Are you homeschooled?"
Atlas laughs. "Already asking a lot of questions I see. Yes I did move here just recently with my family about a week or so ago. Yes I am homeschooled. My siblings have been homeschooled since the day we were technically old enough to start attending school." He takes a bite of his food and begins to wonder why this random girl started to talk to him. Atlas looks up and finds the girl staring at him again. He swallows his bite of food before he speaks. "Why did you ask if I was homeschooled?"
"I never seen you at the high school so I just wanted to know why." Haylie pulls out one of the chairs at the table and sits down. "But I can tell that you are not originally from here. I can tell you lived where you had plenty of sun. You have a tan peeking out from the sleeves of your t-shirt." She giggles. "Are you from Florida?"
Atlas laughs a bit and smirks. "Maybe."
"What do you mean maybe? Where are you from really?"
Atlas didn't like the fact that Haylie was asking way too many questions for her own good. "Why don't you answer me this. Why are you so damn curious about me when you barely even know me?!"
"All I was trying to do was be nice and have a friendly conversation with you," snaps Haylie. She tenses up when she sees Atlas giving her a death glare. She realizes that he caught her in her lie.
"Tell me the truth then instead of trying to lie yourself out of the situation." Atlas goes back to eating his food before it got cold.
"The truth is..." Haylie scratches the back of her head. "I kinda got a crush on you when I had first seen you walk into the food court. I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me?" Haylie gives Atlas a shy smile.
Atlas finishes eating his food. "Listen. You got courage to ask me out. Why don't we hang out as friends and go from there. That way we can get to know each other before we go into anything too serious," said Atlas.
Haylie couldn't believe what Atlas just said to her. "So is it a date?"
"To a sense, yes." Atlas picks up one of the clean napkins on the table and pulls a pen out of his shirt pocket. He writes his phone number on the napkin and hands it to Haylie. "I'll be free around eight tonight. That's my best guess I can give you as to when I will be home. Not exactly sure how long I'll be here at the mall today." He picks up his newly bought sword and straps it to his back, making sure it was it was secure. "Also going to warn you as well. My parents may embarrass the hell out of ya or even my younger siblings." He laughs. "Later, Haylie," said Atlas as he walks away from Haylie, waving at her.
