Bad News (Part 2)

*Y/n POV*

While Zach was busy reading the files on the hybrids, Y/n was in the kitchen busy making dinner. She wanted do make something different for dinner for once. She thought that they would like something new. Y/n looks back toward the living room to make sure everyone was getting along. "At least they aren't trying to scare Zack." She turns her attention back to the cutting board, so she wouldnt cut herself while cutting some vegetables. Her mom walks into the kitchen.

"Are you sure it's a good idea to let Zack know the information about Jade and the others?" Mrs. L/n asks.

"Mainly was hoping for him to get the notion out of his head of having a relationship with Jade but I can tell he's dead set with the thought of going out with her."

"I think he would be good for her."

Y/n puts down the knife she was using to cut some potatoes and turns to look at her mom. "He might but I am more concerned about when the relationship will get to the point where it becomes a commitment. I'm concerned over the fact that what will happen when they have kids or if they have kids. Issac and I don't even know if it's even possible for Jade to even have kids. They started out as hybridized dinosaurs before because turning human. I was there when they all first hatched!" Y/n snaps.

"Y/n, sweetie. You need to calm down." Mrs. L/n pulls her emotionally distraught daughter into her embrace and hugs her. "What's wrong?"

Y/n tries to hold back her tears. "I don't know where to start, mom." She sniffs and wipes the tears from her eyes.

"What happened?'

"InGen did an experiment on me when I first started working there. Issac and I don't know what it did to me. What we do know is that it gave me a fever that nearly put me in the hospital."

Mrs. L/n listens to what her daughter tells her what had happened when she first started to work for InGen, up to the day when she first meets Issac, as well as up to the events that led to her to raise the hybrids. Mrs. L/n holds her daughter until stops crying. "Now dry those tears and finish making dinner. Your kids are hungry and I'm sure your guest is as well."

Y/n let's go of her mom and dries her tears. "Alright. Let's finish making dinner before Atlas starts a riot," said Y/n with a laugh.  It didn't take long for Y/n and her mom to finish making dinner. Once finished, Y/n leaves the kitchen.  "Last one in the kitchen is a rotten egg!" Y/n quickly moves out of the way so she wouldn't ger mowed down by the stampede into the kitchen. She was about to head back into the kitchen before Issac stops her. "Yes, Issac?" Y/n asks.

"After everyone has gone to bed, we need to talk. It's been a while since we had a chance to spend time alone together, Y/n," said Issac.

"Thst is true, Issac. We never really had a chance to spend some together in quit a while. Now let's go eat. I'm sure you are just as hungry as I am."

Issac smirks at Y/n's joke. "You could say that. But yes it is time to eat. Hopefully nothing bad happens."

"Don't jinx it, Issac," warns Y/n. She heads into the kitchen and sits down at the table.

Issac laughs. "Bad stuff usually does happen to us but I have a feeling that..." He ends up getting cut off by the sound of the phone ringing. "Just ignore it for now. If they need to talk to anyone here, they can leave a voice mail," said Issac. He sits down at the table.

It was thirty minutes into eating dinner when the phone starts to ring again. Mrs. L/n leaves the kitchen to answer the phone.

"So who do you think keeps trying to call?" Tidus asks.

Y/n shrugs her shoulders. "Most likely nothing too important," said Y/n before eating her last bite of food. Mrs. L/n comes back into the kitchen and hands Y/n the phone. She gets up and heads into the kitchen so she can hear whoever is on the line. "Hello, who's this?" Y/n asks before she gets a response from the person on the other end of the phone line.

"Is this Y/n L/n?"

"Yes this is her. May I ask who is calling?"

"No time for formalities. How quick can you make it to Lockwood Manor?"

"Give or take a couple of hours. Why? What happened?"

"There was an incident at Lockwood Manor, regarding InGen."

Y/n had a feeling as to what she was about to hear next.

"Since you are still employed by InGen, we need help with the clean up from the disastrous auction. Also if you are up to the task, repairing the manor as well. "

Y/n stays silent for what felt like an eternity. "First I have a few demands. First: Provide the equipment so we can capture the escaped dinosaurs. Second: Since I don't normally do the dirty work of cleaning up the dead, I need a pay raise."

"Very well. We look forward to seeing you in California in a few days, Y/n." The person on the other end of the line hangs up the phone.

Y/n heads back into the kitchen and sits back down next to Issac. She had a somewhat blank look on her face.

Issac waves his hand in front of Y/n's face. "Earth to Y/n. Are you okay?" Issac asks Issac.

Y/n suddenly slams her head down onto the table, causing everything at the table to jump.

"What happened?" Mrs. L/n asks.

"There was a fiasco in northern California. We are going to head to Lockwood Manor and be the clean-up crew for what happened there. Plus I get the feeling that other than an auction happened at the Manor," said Y/n. She knew she didn't have a choice but her curiosity got the better of her. She wanted to see what InGen had been working on at Lockwood Manor.
