First Snow

It was a hard first week for Y/n, Issac, and the hybrids. First they had to deal with taking a helicopter to a yacht out in the middle of the ocean then take said yacht to Costa Rica. Then they had to take plane to Florida, then from Florida to Georgia. From there to Omaha, Nebraska. Then from Nebraska to Minnesota. It was very annoying. Atlas was grumpy the whole time. Mainly because his ears didn't pop to equalize the pressure from the cabin of the plane on his ears. The others were just grumpy because of how convoluted it was just to get to Minnesota. Also from lack of sleep as well. But once they got to Minnesota, the hybrids first surprise was snow.

*Tidus' POV*

"Good thing mom planned ahead for us," said Tidus as he shoves his hands into his coat. He couldn't believe that this was their first time seeing snow. It confused him considering Isla Nublar never even had snow. But lucky for him, Y/n had explained to them about what they would be dealing with during their visit in Minnesota. He turns his attention back to the large cabin. "Might as well head inside then. Nothing much to do really..." He heads inside, being careful not to track in any snow. Right as Tidus was about to take off his coat, he gets hugged by Y/n's mom, Mrs. L/n.

"Good to finally be able to see you, Tidus," said Mrs. L/n as she embraced Tidus in a hug.

"Good to see you too, grandma. The others are busy unpacking our luggage."

"If you are worried about there being enough room for everyone, don't worry." Mrs. L/n let's go of Tidus. "There is plenty of rooms for each of you to have your own room to use."

"Well that's good," said Tidus slightly blushing for he didn't expect a hug from grandma. "We really couldn't share a house back on Isla Sorna. Mom's house wasn't very big. I'd better go find a room to use before the others finish unpacking the car," said Tidus as he heads upstairs.

It's takes about another forty-five minutes for everything to be unpacked and then another hour with everyone fighting over what room was going to be theirs during their duration of their stay. The only rooms that couldn't be claimed was Mrs. L/n's room and Y/n room. Tidus hides in his room during the whole fiasco but he couldn't help but laugh. He was glad that they could stay under one roof as a family instead of being isolated in a paddock away from Y/n and Issac.

*Y/n's POV*

Y/n was in her room busy putting things up on the shelves. She walks over to her nightstand and picks up the photo of her, mom and dad taken together one last time as a family before dad lost the battle with cancer. To this day she still misses him terribly but she always keeps her memories of him close to her heart. She sets the photo back down and sits down on her bed. It had been quite a while since the last time she has been in her old room before she moved out when she was nineteen years old.

"So this is your room then?" Issac asks as he walks into the room.   "I still find it hard to believe you grew up in Minnesota."

"Yeah well I learned to adapt to a hotter climate when I moved to Isla Nublar," said Y/n.

Issac sits down next to Y/n and pulls her into his embrace. "I think it would be best if we stay away from that island."

"We still have to go back even after our vacation to turn in our notices of leave." Y/n absentmindedly stares at the floor, lost in thought. "How am I going to tell Mom that I became a part of Project Prometheus?"

"We will figure out a way," said Issac.

*Ultima's POV*

After finding a room and clamming it as his own, Ultima heads downstairs and grabs his coat. "Time to have some fun," he said with a smirk as he finished bundling up before heading outside. Once outside, Ultima starts to build a snow fort. He had plans for his siblings for a snowball fight. He smirks at the thought.  Ultima starts building his snow fort. After a while of building, Jade comes running outside to bug Ultima. "Whatcha doing?" Jade asks.

"Building a snow fort. Thought it would be fun to have a snow ball fight with the others."

"That would be fun. But aren't you cold? You've been out here for a couple of hours already."

Ultima shrugs his shoulders. "Not really."

"But you need to come inside to warm up before you get too cold..." Jade tugs at Ultima's sleeve. "Inside now!"

"Jade take a chill pill," said Ultima.

Jade looks at Ultima with a 'you had to go there' look. "Just go back inside. We can finish building your snow fort later."

Ultima let's Jade drag him back inside. She then drags him into the kitchen.

"About time you come back inside," said Y/n. She walks over to Ultima and hands him a cup of hot chocolate. "Now stay inside. You are not used to being human out in the cold."

"But mom..."

"No buts. You are to stay inside until later to give your body time to warm up. And don't even think about going back outside after drinking that hot chocolate. You'll put your body in shock."

Ultima growls at Y/n only to end up getting booped on the nose by her.

"You do not growl at me when I am only looking out for you." Y/n kisses Ultima on his cheek. "Now head to the living room. We are all going to watch a movie."

"Love you too, mom," said Ultima before he heads into the living room.
