Fever Pitch

*Issac's POV*

Issac looks over at Y/n, asleep in the passenger seat of his truck. He could tell that she wasn't feeling well. He's known her since they both started working for InGen when they were both twenty-one years old. Even though it's been two years, he only just started to get to know Y/n when she started working nights. She didn't talk much and mostly kept to herself when she worked on paper work, but when he started talking to her, she opened up more. She started talking more to him as well as the other scientists. But he knew she worked the hardest out of all of them. "You're almost home, Y/n," said Issac. Y/n mumbles something in her sleep and Issac laughs quietly. Even though he may not show it, but he loved Y/n. He got the opportunity to tell her his feelings when they both had a chance to eat together a few days after Tidus' egg had hatched.

He focuses his attention back on the road, keeping an eye out for her house as well as for Ultima who had taken up the habit of sleeping on the driveway at night. Since it was a black top driveway, it absorbed heat and kept it throughout the night. As the house came into view, Issac could see that Tidus, Ultima, as well as Vincent we're waiting outside for Y/n's return home. He knew they worried about her. Issac shakes Y/n on her shoulder to wake her up. Y/n slaps his hand away. "I'm up, I'm up," she mumbles and then yawns. She rubs the sleep out of her eyes. "How long was I asleep?" Y/n asks.

"You fell asleep as soon as you were buckled in. So about fifteen minutes or so." Issac unbuckles his seat belt. "Give me a second and I'll help you inside." It ends up taking a few minutes to get Y/n into her house once he got her seatbelt unbuckled. Partly because Tidus kept wanting to see if his mom is okay. Issac helps her into her bedroom and with her permission, helps Y/n change into her pajamas. Issac could feel the heat of the fever on her skin as he helps with getting her F/c t-shirt over her head. He makes Y/n lay down in her bed and covers her up. "Stay in bed. I'll call up one of the doctors and have one come here," said Issac.

"No...don't call...one of the doctors," said Y/n as she yawns again. She points to her backpack at the end of the bed. "Look in there and see why." Y/n pulls the blankets over her head.

Issac finds Y/n's backpack and opens it. "What am I supposed to be looking for?" Issac doesn't get a reply back from Y/n for she had fallen back asleep. Issac leaves the room and heads downstairs with the backpack. He sits down the couch. "Now let's see what Y/n discovered at InGen Labs," said Issac to himself.

*Tidus' POV*

After a bit of difficulty, because of his claws, Tidus managed to get the front door open and he steps inside the house, followed by Vincent. He sees Issac sitting on the couch looking at what his mom said is called paper. He watched Issac a bit before growling to get his attention.

Issac looks up and sees Tidus looking at him. "Worried about Y/n, Tidus?" Issac asks.

Tidus nods his head. He makes a trilling sound while looking towards the stairs that led up to Y/n's room and then towards the kitchen. Issac looks at him, not understanding what he was saying. Tidus stomps his foot and goes into the kitchen. He tried to open one of the cupboards that had herbal tea stored in it.

Issac shakes his head. "I understand what you are trying to say. Would have been easier if InGen made it so their dinosaurs they cloned or genetically modified, be able to talk." Issac sets the files down on the coffee table and goes into the kitchen. "I know tea is good to drink when you are sick but I still don't know how Y/n likes her tea, Tidus," said Issac.

Tidus rolls his eyes, annoyed that it was getting hard to talk to this human. He points to the cupboard that had the tea then to one of the containers one the counter that had the sugar.

After playing a guessing game as to what Tidus was trying to tell him, Issac had got a cup of tea seeping away in a coffee mug with hot water in it. "So how long does he have her tea seep?" After ten minutes goes by, Issac tries to take the tea bag out of the mug but Tidus snaps at his hand and growls at him. "Fine then. For a dinosaur you sure are being picky." Issac waits twenty minutes before trying to take the tea bag out, hesitant since he didn't know if Tidus was going to snap at him again. Issac grabs the sugar canister off of the counter. "Since you might have watched Y/n make her tea, how much sugar does she put in it?"

Tidus taps his claws on the counter, indicating how many spoonfuls of sugar Y/n puts in her tea.

"You sure?" Issac asks before putting the sugar in the tea.

Tidus screeches. He would have facepalmed himself if he could, but couldn't because of how his arms were.

*Y/n's POV but dreaming*

Y/n could hear voices outside of her cell door. They were muffled so she could tell who was out there or how many people there were. She could hear a set of keys jingle outside the door before the door handle begins to turn. The door opens, letting in bright light. Into the cell steps Henry Wu. "What the hell are you doing here?!" Y/n tries to scream but couldn't.

"How are you doing this evening?" Henry asks.

His voice sounded different. A slight teasing tone to his voice but more like he was talking to one of the dinosaurs and not to human. This bothered Y/n quite a lot.

Henry pulls a small flashlight out of his pocket and shines it in Y/n's eyes. "Dilation of the eyes seems normal. Your blood test results came back from the lab. Seems like you've...adapted to the serum quite well."

"Serum? What serum?" Y/n thinks to herself. She tries to lift her hands to her face so she could try to see what Henry was talking about but couldn't. She looks down and see her wrists were restrained to the floor by chains. Her eyes widen in horror when she sees scales on her arms. She screams at Henry but the scream was more of a screech.

"Would you like to see what you look like now, Y/n?" He puts the small flashlight away in his pocket and pulls out a hand mirror. "You were quite successful since you are the first human for this type of experiment." Henry holds the mirror up to Y/n's eyes and smiles in delight, watching Y/n's eyes widen in pure terror.

Y/n's eyes widen in pure terror when she realizes that she had scales on her face as well. But the more detail she takes in of her face, the more horror she realized she was no longer human...more saurian....

*End of dream*

Y/n bolts upright in the bed, screaming, from her fever dream. Issac bursts into the bedroom, followed by Tidus, who ends up crashing into and knocking Issac and himself down onto the floor. Issac pushes Tidus off. "What's wrong, Y/n? How bad of a dream was it?" Issac asks. Tears were falling from Y/n's eyes as she shakes her head. "Project Hybrid has a sister project..." Y/n wipes the tears from her eyes.

"I know now, Y/n. I read the files you had in your backpack. It's called Project Prometheus. But it doesn't seem it will work," said Issac.

"Knowing InGen, they will make it work. In Project Prometheus, it uses a serum to turn humans into dinosaurs." Y/n lays back down on her bed.

"Or InGen can use the serum to turn dinosaurs into humans. Just imagine what chaos it can cause. A human that has the strength and abilities of an Omega Rex or worse, Ultimasaurus," said Issac.
"I don't want to think about that anymore. I just want to get back to sleep." Y/n pulls the blankets back over her head so she can go back to sleep.
