Just Another Day

A few days have gone by since Y/n and the others have arrived at her mom's house. Plus it had snowed again, which made Tidus and the others crowd around the windows to watch the snowfall. Even though this was their first winter, Y/n couldn't help but laugh. She knew the Hybrids were much happier being in Minnesota than being stuck back at the island.

*Vincent's POV*

Vincent sits in the window sill of the bay window, wrapped up in a blanket, watching the snow fall. He liked the quiet of the snow. He didn't mind the fact it was cold or wet. Even though he wouldn't admit, he thought the snow was pretty. But he did kinda miss being back on Isla Sorna. He sighs and traces a pattern on the fogged up glass. Y/n sits down by him. "So how long are we going to be staying at Grandma's?" Vincent asks.

"We'll be staying until a few days after New Year's day. That way you guys can get a break from island as well as get to know what human holidays are."

"So what is Christmas?"

"Christmas is a holiday where families get together to open gifts and to eat food. Plus it tends to get pretty crazy that day depending on what family traditions you follow."

"If you don't mind me asking, what did you do for Christmas?"

"You want to know, don't you?" Y/n asks. Vincent nods his head. "When I was a kid, what I used to do with my family was that we'd go out and buy an evergreen tree, not one of those plastic ones. Once we found the tree we wanted to buy, we'd take it home and decorate it. On Christmas Eve, dad would make homemade apple cider. Then on Christmas, the whole family would get together to eat. Usually we would have a potluck dinner where everyone would bring their own dishes of food."

"But what about the rest of your family?"

Y/n shrugs her shoulders. "My family hasn't visited since the day since Dad passed away and after coming to his funeral." Y/n sighs. "But enough sad memories. So what do you think of Minnesota so far, Vincent?" She asks.

"It's cold. Rather it be hot outside than cold and snowing. But so far I like it here despite the cold. It's quiet. I don't have to listen to the InGen guards talking outside my paddock. I can hear myself think for once in a long time. Plus I can be able to meditate in peace and quiet without that Omega Rex disturbing the peace by roaring." Vincent laughs. "InGen has an Omega Rex by the way. It's actually a few miles away from my paddock, near a gate close to an open field." He smirks.

"How do you know this?" Y/n asks.

"Well you see...during that first week when I and my brothers and sister we're turning human and we stayed our first few nights at your house, we actually found out that Project Prometheus didn't actually take away all of our saurian abilities."

"What do you mean, Vincent?" Y/n didn't like how this conversation was going. She had a feeling it was going to give her more to hate about InGen.

"What I mean is that we have some abilities that made us different in our own ways. Like Jade for example, she has wings that she keeps hidden. Atlas is really strong, which is how he was able to toss trees around like they weighed nothing."

"So that is why Atlas, during his last rampage, broke the electrified fences," said Y/n.

Vincent nods his head. "Tidus can see really well in the dark as well as blend in with darkness."

Y/n listens intently to what Vincent had to tell her. She finds out as well that Ultima was just as strong as Atlas, if not stronger, but she had a feeling that he had more abilities considering the fact he was made of four dinosaurs. Meanwhile she finds out as well that Vincent was able to hold his breath underwater for long periods of time. Vincent wasn't really sure how long he could hold his breath for.

*Y/n POV*

Once Y/n finished listening to what Vincent was telling her, a blank expression appears on her face.

"Mom, are you okay?" Vincent asks. He waves his hand in front of her face.

It was five more minutes of silence before she calmly gets up and heads to the door. She opens the door and heads outside before closing the door behind her. "IM GOING TO DRAG InGen TO HELL!!!!" Y/n screams at the top of her lungs.
Ultima and the others come running outside to see what the racket was about.

Y/n was throwing a fit over what Vincent had just told her. She went from screaming at the top of her lungs to mumbling death threats of what she planned on doing to InGen once she got back to the island.

Atlas decided to try to calm her down. "Mom you can't just flip over what happened to us because of InGen," said Atlas.

"You could have died when you turned human!" Tears fall from Y/n's cheeks as she tried to calm down. She was scared for her kids but even more scared of the fact that they could have died just moments after they had turned human. "You weren't supposed to be human..."

"Tough luck, alright! Project Prometheus made us human. InGen had their reasons but we know they did it so they could control us better." Atlas smiles, showing his sharp teeth.  "But one thing for sure is that InGen will never be able to control is. We're your kids so to you we are your family and so is Issac."

Y/n wipes the tears from her eyes. "Your right, Atlas." She smiles. "After all, it's just another day for us together as a family."
