I woke up starting the day like a regular morning, slightly disappointed that today wasn't a teacher work day like the previous.

I put on a simple baby blue tee, black jeans, vans, not much make up and head downstairs. By the time I was walking downstairs my mom and Andy were already heading out the door, saying a quite goodbye as they passed.

Once they were out I made my way to the kitchen seeing Luke hanging out in the kitchen on his phone. He look up from his screen as I walked in and a small smirk appeared on his face.

"What are you smirking at Hemmings?" I say lifting myself on to the counter.

"Let's just say you have some plans today," he speaks making me give him an unsure look.

"What do you mean?" I give a slight chuckle.

"Oh, you'll see princess." His smirk grows darker as he casually walks over to the dining table grabbing the car keys. "You ready?"

"We are going to school, right?" I say unsure.

A scoff escapes his lips. "Not today, babe. Not today."

"Luke we've been driving for over and hour where are you taking me?" I whine.

"Patience, El." Luke chuckles.

"Ugh, Luke!" I whine some more. "This could be counted as kidnapping, you know?"

"Yeah, go ahead and turn me in for kidnapping," he taunts.

I sigh. "At least tell me why you are taking me to this place."

"God, you are the most impatient person ever, aren't you?" His eyes roll as he drives.

"Yes, I am. I hate surprises." I declare.

"No you don't," he says. "You're like the type of person that says they hate surprises but secretly they love them and just likes being difficult?"

I give him a crazy look. "Why the hell do you think that?"

He just shrugs, "I just know."

We both stop talking after that. Letting the State Champs song that was playing on the radio full the air.

I stare outside of the window wondering where Luke could possibly be taking me. I find my eyes closing remembering the sleep I wish I hadn't lacked in last night.

Just as I feel myself start to drift to sleep a voice jolts me fully awake. "We're here sleeping beauty," Luke chirps a bit loudly causing me to have a minnie heart attack.

"Good Lord Luke-" I say but am cut off by the setting of where we were. We were at a beach strip mall with the ocean in sight. "Whoa- why are we here?"

"Because," he started taking my hand. "I don't know what we are or what you want us to be but I think- no matter what our situation is -we should be able to have a shot at... whatever this is. So, I took you to a place where I knew we could act whoever we wanted without anyone we know seeing or judging us."

"So..." I trail off. "Is this like- a date?"

A small grin appears on Luke's lips. "Yes, o guess this like a date."

I can't help but smile but it soon fades. "But what about our parents-"

"Please, can we not think about our parents today," he cuts me off.

I lean back thinking about his words for a moment. "Yeah. Okay, let's get started then."

Luke starts off by taking me to the shore. The beach was almost empty, with it being ten am on a Tuesday. "It's so nice out here," I smile.
