I stretch my feet out from below me. The house is silent as I quietly sit up. I hear someone in the dining room, so I head toward the noise.

Daniel is sitting on the dining room table, scrolling through Instagram.

"Hey, Ev," He glances up for a moment before turning back to his phone.

I sit down next to him and glance over to his phone.

"She's cute," I nod toward the photo.

"Oh," He blushes, "She's okay," He shrugs.

"Danny, we have to get you a girlfriend," I steal a sip of his water.

"Really?" He asks, "The second day of tour and you're focused on my love life?"

I laugh, "Fine. I'll wait a week. You guys have to have met some cool girls," He looks at me, "Cool girls who pass my approval," I correct.

Corbyn strolls into the room, "Morning you two," He looks at Daniel for a moment.

"Hey, Corbyn," Daniel replies, turning his attention back to his phone.

"When do we head to New York?" I ask, taking another sip of Daniel's water.

"Tonight," Corbyn smiles.

"Christina is meeting us at the airport," Daniel explains.

"Got it," I nod before turning to Corbyn, "You two are cute together."

"She's amazing," He smiles.

Nova wanders in sleepily, "I heard some voices."

"Morning, Nove," I stand up, giving her my seat. She takes it and picks an Oreo from
the package.

"Who's packed?" I ask the boys.

"Not me," Daniel drops his phone onto the
table, "You should help me."

"Just pack something summery," I joke.

He looks at me, rolling his eyes, "Ha. Ha. Summery."

"That was the advice you gave me," I point out.

"Fine. You're helping me later."

"How about you, Corbyn?"

He shrugs, "Sort of."

Nova sighs, "Evelyn, we should go to the mall today."

"Sure, we can look around."

"No, no, no, no, Ev is helping me. She doesn't deserve you, Nova," Daniel interrupts.

"You got her yesterday. I want some girl bonding," Nova complains. I roll my eyes.

"As much as I love people fighting over me, Nova and I are going to the mall," Daniel groans at this.

"Not fair. You get to hang with her all year, and I'm your best friend."

"I never said I wasn't going to help you after."

"Deal," He gets up, "You better be back quickly."

Nova and I look at each other, "Guess we're going to the mall?"

. . .

I park the car carefully.

"You're way too cautious for a driver," Nova complains from the passenger seat.
