Find You

13 2 4

I climbed the upper echelons
to the clouds and the stars
I looked down and around
and everywhere
but could not see where you are

I dove the deepest trenches
beneath the water and the waves
But I could not find you
among the living
nor even in the graves

I read up all the stories
my mind could understand
But all I read
confused me more
so I considered it a sham

Until a whisper on the wind
and deep within my soul
Spoke all at once
to a forlorn heart
buried and growing cold

You are not so far above
nor far below as others say
Nor in a dark
four cornered room
or on a journey far away

For your wind has stoked
this flame inside
and carried me now
to where you reside

If I just listen and ignore
what others have done and said
I can always find you
when I just bow my head
