Treasure

Forever if we allow
nightmares to invade
Shall we not hurt ourselves somehow
as we hide beneath this shade?

Let not your heart be troubled
By nights alone and days undone
For fear shall make it double
and soon shall you lose your fun

If in the tempest you can hold
and see the shoreline at all
Perhaps you may yet be bold
To rise in dreams instead of fall

For as we live within our heart
So shall the treasure be that we stake
Remember while we sleep in part
As we dream; so will we awake
