I heard the children crying
across the universe
I saw their broken cribs
when I realized what life is
and standing among the trees
I fell upon my knees
when I saw the ancient stars
bend the circle where we are
There you were
watching me
and the wind
came rushing now
through these trees
and right thru me
somehow
Silver broke the bitter tides
and we could not take up sides
for all our dreams were just like this
lost in some dry and dusty kiss
Until we stepped back and were free
from the bar across eternity
Our hearts at once began to see
All that we are and have come to be
I heard you crying
beyond the waves
rising up from
our old graves
and finding our way
past all that hate
we embraced
