This song is one that my parents have always said reminds them of me, and I thought it related to these two, as well. (Katerina and the baby. )

" Tears stung her eyes as she cradled her stomach. She felt hurt. She felt it in her heart. She felt broken.

There was one thing that made her miserable existence worth it.

Her baby. "

Eventually, the sickness had faded, but Katerina found herself wishing for the sickness to come back, giving her an excuse to stay away from her egotistical fiancé.

Even with Oliver, she had never felt affection as strong as the affection she had already for her child- this life inside her, who, despite not yet meeting their momma, had managed to become her world.

Her parents were planning every little aspect of the upcoming wedding along with Alejandro's parents, she had to see his smug little face almost every day.

As for her bump, it was getting harder to hide under the loose fitting, non-corseted dresses.

She was happy that her baby was healthy and comfortable in there, it was the most amazing feeling.
As her child grew though, the kicks and wiggles got more painful.

By our modern standards, Katerina was twenty-two weeks pregnant, with a rounded bump at this point, and it would soon be so that she could no longer stay home.

Katerina often took a morning stroll in the bitter wind, just to walk up to Oliver's stables and hope to catch a view of him, however slight it may have been - just for one moment.

The harsh wind slapped her face as she fought the force of it, clamping her month shut and squinting her eyes.
The cold sometimes ripped at her skin and blistered her.
But seeing him, she felt like she could breathe again, he was her hope.

She knew that soon, she would struggle too much to carry herself up the hill to the stables.

But what she didn't know was that this would be the last time she would ever see him, or so it seemed.

Katerina could see three horses, running in an enclosed section of field, right by the stables.

Alexander, who was the first horse that she encountered when she met the man that she fell for.

Then, there was Astria

Then, there was Astria. She was Katerina's favourite and the girl of the triplets. Astria was the most graceful and gentle, and when Katerina was around Astria, the baby seemed to wriggle and move excitedly inside of her.

Her eyes moved towards Darius, Oliver's favourite horse, the one he had for eight years

Her eyes moved towards Darius, Oliver's favourite horse, the one he had for eight years. She glanced up and noticed Oliver had taken his reigns, she watched as he climbed on the horse effortlessly. Katerina sighed as she watched him glide through the field. She missed him with all of her heart.

(Ignore the sand and water, please!! :) )

For what seemed like forever, she watched him, his body tense and his face pained from the brutal wind. Yet, he still looked beautiful.

She continued to watch as he brushed all of the horses and fed and watered them.

Just as she was about to yell for him, she noticed a beautiful girl enter the stables, and her heart ached as she looked at the way Oliver and the girl beamed at one another.

Her vision blurred as their bodies got closer, and slowly their noses and lips started to meet.

Tears stung her eyes as she cradled her stomach
