Chapter 15

Steve's POV -
I have officially reached my 8 month mark today . Tony is at a Avengers meeting so I'm at home with the twins. We were cuddled in mine and Tony's bed and we were watching Finding Nemo . It's the kids favorite movie and it's actually really good. We were all waiting for Tony to come back so we could go out to the garden and have a nice family picnic . I looked down when I felt a kick from the baby . Maddie and peter both put their heads on my belly to feel her kick . " Is she hurting you papa ?" Peter asked . " No she isn't hurting me , she kicks a little hard sometimes but for now it's just like a little flutter in my tummy " I said . " Does she like to move a lot ?" Maddie asked . " Yea she moves around all the time even when I sleep " I said . The baby kept kicking after that . The twins key their heads on my belly to hear their sister kick . " Ow papa she kicked me in the face !" Peter said holding his cheek . " Oh she didn't mean to buddy . Here let me see it " I said looking at his cheek . " Oh peter you'll be okay it won't even bruise " I said to him . We finished the movie and I saw the twins had fell asleep on my belly . The baby had actually stopped kicking too . They are already bonding with each other . I smiled down at them and played with the twins hair . Tony came in about an hour later and the twins were still asleep. He walked over to me and kissed me . " Hey honey how was the meeting ?" I asked . " It was okay but I missed you guys " he said taking off his shoes and putting them in his side of the closet . " Do you have any work to do ?" I asked him . " Nope I got outta there before Fury could give me any work . I might fix up my suit later but that's it " he said walking back over to me to sit on the bed beside of us ." Okay well let's wake these two up so we can go on our picnic " I said sitting up a tiny bit so the twins would wake up . " Okay kiddos daddy's home !" Tony said to the kids . " Daddy !" They yelled popping up from their nap . " Let's go grab all our stuff for the picnic " he said to them ruffling their hair . They went downstairs and got all the stuff together while I struggled to put on my shoes . " Tony I need help !" I yelled . He was there within seconds. " What's wrong " he asked panting . " I can't put on my shoes " I said sadly . He smiled and grabbed my shoes and put them on me . " There you go princess, all better ?" He said . " I'm not a princess . You know how I feel about that " I said crossing my arms . " I know I know sorry but I just couldn't resist " he said and kissed me on the cheek . We walked hand in hand down the stairs and then to the elevator. The kids grabbed our free hands and we all walked to the garden. We sat by a tree and had a nice normal family lunch . The baby started to kick more and it actually hurt worse than usual. " Oh crap ngh " I moaned in pain falling over a little bit . " Steve what's wrong ? Are you okay ?" Tony asked coming over to help hold me up . " Yea she is just kicking really hard and it hurts " I said and she kicked again but this time she kicked so hard it knocked the breath out of me . " Okay , oh god ; kids I need you to listen to me . Go to Loki's house Okay . Hold each other's hands and be careful. I'm taking papa to the hospital. Now go " tony said . Peter grabbed Maddie's hand and they ran into the building. " Steve can you stand ?" He asked . I shook my head no . " Crap ! Uhh okay hold on " He said he called his suit to him and then he lifted me up . " Steve hold on . It's gonna be okay " he said to me as he carried me through the building to the hospital ward. " Bruce! Helen! Anyone! Help !" He said . Bruce and Helen both came around the corner and saw us . " Oh god ! Helen get a wheelchair!" Bruce demanded. "Steve ! Steve ! Look at me ! Can you breathe?" Bruce asked . " Not really " I said with what little breath I had . " Okay . Helen hurry !" He said . They put me in the wheelchair and rushed me to a room . Bruce put a mask for oxygen on my face and then he felt where the baby was . " It's as hard as a rock . Steve does the baby feel lower than usual?" Bruce asked . I shook my head yes . " Okay , Steve we are going to have to induce labor" Bruce said going to get a needle and medicine to induce my labor . " No wait she still has a month to go I can't have her yet !" I said panicking. " Steve you don't have a choice it's either you give birth to her now and she will live or don't and she will die " Bruce said injecting me with the medicine to induce my labor . " It will take about a minute to kick in but it works really quick " Bruce said . It took a few seconds but then I felt it the first contraction. " No " I cried out  . " Steve it's ok ; Look at me babe, you can do this " Tony said holding my hand . They took off my pants and my shirt and put a hospital gown on me . " Steve can you breathe now ?" Bruce asked . " Yea I'm okay now but I can't have her yet " I said . " Steve if she was moved down out of her normal spot she was ready to come out and your stomach was as hard as a rock which means it is time " Bruce said . " hnnmm ow " I cried with the next contraction. " You have a long ways to go Steve . Your only at 2 cm for now " Helen said . " I'd get comfortable if I were you Steve because you might be here for a long time with this one " Bruce said and they left the room to get the delivery room ready for me . " Can you get Bucky for me ? Please " I said to tony . " Yea honey I'll call him and get him down here right away " tony said calling Bucky. " He is on his way Steve don't worry " tony said holding my hand . " Owwww nghhhh " I cried out . " I think she's moving quick " I said feeling movement from within me  . " Bruce come here ! " tony yelled . Bruce came running in . " What's wrong ?" He said . " I think she is coming quick " I said . " Okay lay back Steve and I'll check " he said . I laid back into the pillows and waited . " well your right she is moving quick . She's already at 5 cm . I'll go make sure the delivery room is completely prepared and then we will take you in to wait " Bruce said leaving again . Bucky came in seconds later . " What happened ? I thought you weren't due for another month " Bucky said. " I'm technically not due for another month but she's coming early " I said grabbing for Bucky's hand . I had hold of his and Tony's hands and they both helped me through my next contraction. " Oh god !!why did I want to do this again ?!" I yelled after the contraction. " It's okay babe you can get through this " Tony said encouragingly. I just nodded and breathed through the contractions .  10 minutes later Bruce came back in to get me . " Alright Steve lets go " Bruce said getting ready to move me . " Tony I'm scared " I said shakily . " It's okay Steve . I'm right here , and you have done this before you can do it " he said holding my hand tightly. I felt another contraction and I couldn't breathe again . " Alright , lets go we gotta move now or this baby and Steve could both die " Bruce said moving me through the halls to the delivery room .  " We need to lift him onto the delivery bed " Bruce said . Bucky , Tony ,and Bruce all picked me up and moved me to the bed . Bruce and Helen put up my legs in the stirrups and then they put a sheet over my legs . " Alright Steve she's at 8 cm so just pant through the next few contractions and she will be at 10 within a few minutes " Bruce said putting a breathing mask on my face again . I nodded and tried to get through the next contraction. Tony looked as if he was gonna pass out . " Tony .... don't ... pass... out " I said breathlessly. He nodded and held my hand as tight as he could . After 10 minutes,Bruce checked where the baby was and said " Alright she's at 10 cm , you know what to do on the next contraction Steve " . I felt the contraction come as soon as he said that . I beared down and pushed with what little strength I had . " Harder Steve ! Push harder!" Bruce said . I tried to push harder but I couldn't . " I feel weak " I said to Bucky . I could feel myself blacking out . " Steve! Steve !! Hey punk , Keep your eyes on me ! You need to do this I know your tired ,but you gotta stay awake so your daughter doesn't die " he said holding my hand and shaking me a little. I could feel the next contraction was coming so I pushed as hard as I could . " Her head is out now Steve just a couple more pushes and she will be out " Bruce said . I just went with each contraction and pushed . It took 3 more pushes and she was out . " She's out ! Here , Helen come get the baby and weight her " Bruce said handing Helen my baby . Tony looked around the sheet and went pale . " Bruce why is there so much blood ?!" Tony asked panicking. " He has a tear from giving birth ,but I'm fixing it " Bruce said stitching me up where I guess it was torn at . Tony paled at the amount of blood that was on the sheets ,I guess it was a lot . Tony just nodded and came back beside me and held my hand ,but he barely got a hold of my hand before I heard a big thud and saw him on the ground . " Buck .... help... him " I said weakly . " Oh crap " Bucky said running around to the other side of the bed to pick up tony . " Hey ! Hey ! Wake up ! " Bucky said shaking tony a little . Tony woke up . " Huh oh god my head " he said holding his head . " Tony " I said barely being able to talk . " Steve I'm sorry I didn't mean to pass out on you " he said slowly getting up . I just held out my hand and he grabbed it . Then everything went black .
