Chapter 24

Maddie's POV -
" When were you going to tell me that you have a boyfriend?" Pops said crossing his arms . " Better question how long have you had a boyfriend?" Dad asked putting his hands on his hips . " I promise pops I was gonna tell you I just didn't know when would be the right time because you were worried about dad and I didn't want to stress you out anymore and .. and I knew that you would only get all protective mama bear on him and I didn't want that to happen ... I mean I probably should have told you when we started dating but I was just afraid we wouldn't last ... I mean now I'm not afraid because we have been nothing but happy these past 10 months but I just didn't know how to tell you ..." I said hoping that he wouldn't get to mad . " She gets that from you ya know " pops said to dad . " I get what from dad ?" I asked . " Nothing sweetheart . It's nothing to worry about " dad said smirking at pops . "Maddie ,you know you can always talk to me no matter how busy I am . I'm your parent honey , you and your siblings always come before any of my work . You can always come to me " pops said coming over to me . " So you aren't mad at me ?" I asked,  scared of what he would say . " No honey , I'm not mad at you because you have a boyfriend , but I'm upset that you didn't tell me " pops said putting his hand on my shoulders so I would look at him . " I'm sorry papa I know I should have told you ... I was just scared of what you were going to say.... I was afraid you would be disappointed in me " I said to him . " Honey I would never be disappointed that you are dating someone " he said brushing back my hair . " We are proud of all three of our kids and we always will be , so don't think that we aren't ever proud of you sweetie " my dad said walking over . " Can I be honest with you both ?" I asked. " Of course sweetheart you can tell us anything " my dad said . " Okay well this might take a while so you might want to sit down " I said walking over to my bed . Dad and pops followed me . Pops sat down beside me on my right side and dad was on my left . " Alright honey what's on your mind ?" Dad asked . " Well ... I do like being with Adis but he said that in order for us to be together later in life ... like get married... I would have to go to Asgard with him and live there but I don't want to leave earth because I would be leaving you guys behind and I can't lose you again " I said . " Oh ...well yea that's a big deal , but Maddie you don't have to do anything you don't want to do and I'm sure that you wouldn't have to leave us behind . Adis could probably fix something up for us to live there with you , but you need to remember that you have a future too ." Pops said . " I know and that's the problem. I want to be a hero . I want to lead the next team of super hero's . I just don't know what to do " I said putting my head in my hands. I felt someone rubbing my back . " Maddie ... I know you want both and maybe in the future you can have both so for now don't settle for either . You should date Adis and continue your training and in the future if you have to choose you will know the right choice " Dad said rubbing my back. " I guess so ... I just wish there was an easier way to decide" I said . " Honey life isn't easy . Marriage isn't either , and one day ,if you have kids , life gets even harder . It's never going to be simple but that's what makes it life " Pops said . I nodded and sighed . " AHHHHHH !" We heard a male voice scream. I grabbed my shield and pops grabbed his . Dad got in his suit and we all ran to where the scream came from . " HELP ME !" The voice screamed again . I heard where it came from and I ran as fast as I could to it . When I got to the spot the screams came from I didn't even know what I was looking at . " please Maddie help me " peter said . " Who is that ?" I asked him . A guy in a red and black spandex suit was wrapped completely around my brother . He had peters arms and legs tied up and he was petting Peter's hair . " My sweet petey who is this lovely lady ?" The guy asked . " I'm his sister and unless you'd like to get your ass-" I said but got cut off . " Watch your language young lady " Pops said coming up behind me . " Sorry " I said but I kept my focus on the guy who was constricting my brother . " Let him go wade " dad said sighing . " Okay but only if I get to stay with my petey " The guy - wade said . " Fine " dad said . The guy jumped up and untied peter . " You know that's the worst way to greet your boyfriend. I hate when you do that wade " peter said. " Wait you have a boyfriend too ?" Pops asked . " Yea we have been dating for a year now " peter said standing up dusting the dirt off of himself . " So both of my babies are dating people " Pops said sadly . " Wait , Maddie has a boyfriend?" Peter asked . I looked down blushing and I nodded . " Ohhhh who is it ? " wade asked me . " His name is Adis " I said to wade with a glare . " Adis ? As in Adis Lokison ?" Peter asked me . I nodded and looked at peter . He smiled at me and said " I'm happy for you sis " . " Thanks I'm happy for you too but I didn't expect you to end up with someone like that guy . How did you two even meet ?" I said . " When I was taken by the government they had me train with wade and he became my sidekick and from that point I started to have a crush on him . When dad finally got me back he sent me to high school and wade was there so we would hang out with each other and eventually we started dating " he said . " Sounds like you two have quite the bond " Pops said to peter . " Yes sir we have the closest bond ever . My precious lil Petey here and I are always together " wade said squishing Peters cheeks . " Well wade since you know my dad , tony , meet my other dad , Steve " peter said . " Omg this is the wonderful person who gave birth to you . It's so wonderful to meet you sir , thank you for the wonderful gift that is your son " wade said shaking Papa's hand . " Um your welcome " pops said uncomfortably while shaking wade's hand . " When the time comes I promise I will ask you for your permission to marry peter " wade said being serious. " Well that's good but I'd hope that won't come for a long time " Pops said . " Peter already made a deal with me that he has to be at least 18 before he will get married " dad said to Pops . Pops only nodded and walked over to dad to whisper something in his ear . " Yea we can talk about that later " dad said . " Talk about what ?" Peter asked . Before dad could answer we heard a loud noise above us . " Get down !" Pops yelled . We all dropped to the ground and I crawled to the bushes away from the clearing we were in . " Maddie run !" I heard from behind me . I turned around to see Adis running towards me . " It's the FBI we have to go now !" Adis said grabbing my hand . We tried to run but we were shot down with a net . Pops and dad were shot with nets too but theirs electrocuted them and knocked them out . Wade and peter were caught in a net too . " LET US GO !" I screamed . A guy in a suit came down with a bunch of men in bulletproof vests with guns . They held a gun to both of my dads heads . " LET ME GO YOU BASTARD I NEED TO GET TO MY DADS!" I screamed struggling to get out to get to my parents . " Both of them are okay . No need to worry about them " The guy said smirking at me . I tried to grab his legs but he kicked me in the face . He broke my nose and pulled me up by the back of my hair . "LET HER GO !" Adis yelled fighting the guys who tackled him to put restraints on him . " You always were a little brat . Even when you were a baby I hated you and your whole family ,but now since your all fugitives I get to lock you up and throw away the key ...Who knows I might even let my guards beat you to death or maybe I'll use you as my own personal toy " he said to me . " Your crazy if you think I won't fight back " I said spitting in his face . " Oh no I know you will fight back . That's why I'm going to do this " he said . He pulled out his gun . "No please don't shoot her !" Peter screamed while fighting to get free from the other guards who were holding him back . Peter got free but the guy holding me shot him in the shoulder. Peter collapsed to the ground . " PETER ! NO !" I screamed and I kicked the guy holding me down. I got up and I ran to peter . The guy only laughed and shot me in the legs . I screamed out in agony and fell to the ground . " MADDIE ! PETER !" I heard my papa and dad yell . I rolled onto my back and I felt numb in my legs . I just laid there and all the commotion was like a faint noise in my ears . I looked to the side and saw Adis screaming and tears were rolling down his face . I saw my dad's fighting to get away from the guards . Peter was proped up against a tree with a gun to his head and blood covering his shoulder, and wade was knocked out but they had him tied to the ground . I felt the guy step on my chest . " Tsk tsk tsk look at you now . Now you won't be able to fight back " he said stepping down on my chest harder . " Sir we have orders to bring them back alive . " a guard said . " I know what the orders are . I just agreed to them being alive . I never agreed to not hurting them " the guy said . A guard wrapped my legs to stop the bleeding while the other guard put me in handcuffs. I was the first one to be taken . I was lifted and carried onto the helicarrier that the FBI had . They laid me on a medical table and strapped me down tightly so I couldn't escape . I heard my dad's yelling for me and struggling to get to me . " Let me go ! Maddie ! Peter! stay awake !" They yelled . I looked to the right and I saw them being shoved into a cell . They tried to fight back but the FBI shocked them again . They both fell to the ground and passed out . I felt someone grab my left hand and hold it . I looked to the left and I saw peter . " Maddie I'm so sorry ... this never would have happened if we didn't try to come find you and papa " peter said crying and holding his shoulder where the bullet went through . " It's okay peter , I'm okay just do what they say . Pete just don't fight back , I'll be okay but tell them you need medical attention " I said . Peter nodded and I wiped his tears . " Hey ! You get over here you mutt !" One of the guards yelled. Peter sighed and walked over to the guard . He hit peter across the face with the gun he was holding . Peter fell into his cell and held his jaw . " Maybe you'll listen the first time I tell you something mutt " the guard said . Wade was carried in and throw in the cell with peter . Peter leaned over wade's body and shook him to wake him up . " Hey I need medical attention right now or I'm going to bleed out " peter said to one of the guards. " Fine , men get him on a table so we can operate " a lady guard said . They grabbed peter and put him beside me . The lady guard started to remove the bullet from Peter's shoulder . " Stay awake young man . Look at me stay awake " she said softly to him . I watched her and she was gentle with stitching his shoulder . " Your shoulder was badly damaged but with your dna you should heal quickly but be careful with your movements . I'll make sure I'm the guard in charge of you so I can help with your injury " she said softly to him . He nodded and slightly smiled at her . " I'm sorry I have to do this to all of you but if I don't then they will kill my baby and my husband " she said tearing up . " It's okay I understand but please promise me that you will not let them kill any of us " peter said and she nodded and smiled at him . I took a breath of relief and watched her carefully put peter back in his cell with wade . A guard ran in with the man that shot us . " He got away sir . He froze our men and tore some in half ." one of the guards said to the guy who shot me . " He's the one we needed for testing . Go find him now ! We don't leave until we find that monster " the guy said . He walked in and came over to me . " Where did your little boyfriend run off to ?" The guy asked sternly . I didn't respond I only stared at the ceiling. " You Stark's are always so difficult, but eventually I will break you . Just like I broke your dad " he said smirking at me . " What did you just say ?!" I asked with venom in my voice . " I'm the one who tortured your dad for the past few years . I was the one who told him you all were dead and then after that I reminded him of your death every single day . He eventually got so depressed and crushed that he told me to just kill him . I didn't do it because I wanted him to feel as much pain as possible " the man said . I broke my arm restraints and reached up to grab the mans throat. He was choking and trying to hit me . I dodged all his punches and I held his throat as tightly as I could . He struggled for breath as I kept wringing my hands around his throat , but before he could take his final few breaths I was pulled away . " NOOO LET ME GO ! HE DESERVES TO DIE !" I screamed . I head butted the person holding me and grabbed the guys throat once more . His eyes rolled to the back of his head and he fell to the ground . I grabbed him by the shirt before he fell and I punched him hard enough in the face to break his nose to pieces , Uncle Bucky taught me that move . " Maddie ! Stop !" I heard someone yell . I turned around to see my dad looking at me and crying . " Maddie don't kill him . If you kill him they will kill you " my dad said through tears . I realized I never knew my strength and I almost just killed a man . I looked over to make sure he was still faintly breathing , and he was . I heard yelling from outside of the helicarrier . I saw ice and red mist going everywhere. I saw Adis and Wanda , who had shown up earlier in the day , fighting off the soldiers . Adis had turned into full jotun . He was blue and had red eyes just like his dad does  . " Take off now !" A guard said to the pilot . They closed up the doors and then we took off . " NOOO ! ADIS !" I screamed I felt all my emotion balling up inside me . Two big guards came and grabbed me and restrained my arms again . I gave up on fighting back . I felt a hand go around my throat . I gasped and went wide eyed. I glanced to my left and saw the guy I just about killed staring at me in anger . " Your dead now " he seethed through gritted teeth. I just closed my eyes and accepted it. " NO! LET HER GO !" I heard my dad's yelling . A guard came and pushed the guy off me . I took in a deep breath and choked. I gasped and tried to regain my breath. When I saw who pushed him off I was shocked . It was the soldier guy who wrapped up my legs and carried me into the helicarrier and the lady guard who helped stitch up peter . They were both holding him back so he couldn't hurt me . " Alexander get ahold of yourself ! You can't kill that child " the guy soldier said to the man who tried to kill me . He just fought back against them . " Alright I've had enough of this ! He won't cooperate, throw him in a cell until he can control himself " the lady guard said . They threw the guy in a empty cell . He just sat in the corner and glared at me . " Call the Commander , tell them agent pierce is down he will be thrown in the hospital for a week to sort out this mental issue " the lady guard said to the guy . He nodded to her and walked off to the front of the helicarrier. " How are you feeling young lady ?" The lady guard asked me . " You mean besides the fact that I've been shot and mentally ripped from my home . I'm fine " I said in a monotone voice . " I know and if there was anything I could do to help you I would but ..." she trailed off . " Yea I know. Can you at least tell me your name and the other guy who saved me name ? " I asked her . " My name is Sharon Carter ,and the guy who helped me hold back agent pierce from hurting you ,  his name is Adam Grove " she said to me . I nodded and smiled at her . " Miss I hate to interrupt your convo but peter is bleeding again " wade said holding up peter . She rushed over and grabbed peter out of his cell . She helped carry him over to the table beside me and laid him down on it . " Petey , how much blood have you lost ?" I asked him . " Not that much sis , don't worry about me I'll be fine " he said closing his eyes and rolling his head towards me . Sharon restitched his shouldering wrapped it tightly . " You will rest here peter , until that wound heals your not going back into a cell " Sharon said to him . He nodded and smiled contently. Sharon set up an iv drip on peter and then she injected him with something . " Hey what did you do to him " I asked scared that she might have done something and to him . " It's okay I just gave him some medicine to sleep so that he will heal quicker " Sharon said rubbing Peter's head and playing with his hair so he would feel comfort. Peter closed his eyes and then he was asleep .  I just laid back and let sleep take me .

( Time skip - 4 hours later )

I opened my eyes and I realized I was in an operating room. I tried to move but I was completely restrained. I felt scared and trapped so I screamed. Sharon came in looking frightened. " What's wrong ? Are you okay ?" She asked me frantically. " No I'm not okay ! Where am I ? Why am I tied up ? " I asked struggling to still get free .  " Hey hey calm down it's okay I'll take off the restraints. We had to keep you tied down for transportation and for the surgery. I didn't want you to wake up and get hurt or worse " she said undoing the restraints on my legs , neck , and body . " Surgery ? What surgery ?" I asked her . " You had a bullet stuck in your legs and it started to cause a blood clot . Without the immediate surgery you would have lost your legs " she said . I nodded and laid my head back . " Where is my family ?" I asked her . " Your parents are in their room and your brother is in recovery" She said . " And my boyfriend, Adis , what happened to him ?" I asked scared of the answer I might get . She kept quiet and looked down at her papers . " It says here you have -" she started to say something but I cut her off . " Where is my boyfriend?! " I asked her loudly and sternly . I felt tears well up in my eyes . " I'm not permitted to tell you information on his status " She said and looked down . I didn't hold back the tears . I sobbed and I felt something deep down in me shatter . I had never felt so broken in my life . " He killed many of our men . He ... he and a few others killed almost all of our men . We left 100 men there to seize them and only 5 men came back with severe injuries . After the fight was over , only 4 people who were on your side survived " she said holding my hand . " Who ?" I asked shakily. " Loki , Thomas ,Peggy, and Wanda. The rest are labeled as deceased but we only have the body of one of them ." She said pulling her hand away . " Whose body ?" I asked fearing the answer I would get . " Sam Wilson , he was shot out of the sky and crashed into a tree , he suffered from neck injuries causing his death " she said and closed the file . " So Adis is ..." I started and she understood what I was trying to say . " Deceased ... yes " she confirmed. I couldn't believe it . We had only gotten together 11 months ago and for once I actually felt like I found someone who I could spend forever with . I can't believe I just lost him . " Your parents already know about the status of your team " she said . I just nodded and then looked at my surroundings. I heard rapid beeps coming from beside me . I realized that was my heart rate and all that stuff that I was hooked up to . " Maddie you need to calm down or you could have a heart attack " Sharon said trying to reach for my hand . I felt her try to grab my hand . I broke the restraint on my arm and let my anger take over me . I punched at her and she backed away from me . " Maddie please don't do this I'm trying to help you " she said grabbing a syringe with medicine in it . " No your not ! I loved him ! How would you feel if someone killed your husband ! " I screamed at her . She ran over and jumped on me . I tried to throw her off of me but she had already stuck me with the needle and gave me the medicine that was in it. " Why ?" I asked softly and I felt the tears running down my face . " Why ? " I kept asking until I fell into darkness .
